This kinda happened to me back in the nineties.
A former manager, no longer with our company, got word that I was interviewing for a new job.
She took it upon herself to call my then current manager to inform him that I was looking for a job.
To this he responded that not only was he aware of the situation, but he had helped refer me and and was facilitating the process because my wife had just gotten pregnant, the new job was double the income, and I was gonna need that, and he was happy for me.
I still fantasize about bringing severe misfortune to that woman.
Who the hell calls up people’s employers and rats them out over stuff that shouldn’t be anyone’s business?
People that weren’t beat up enough as kids for snitching
I’d argue the opposite. It’s all about power. The ex-manager was feeling powerless. By snitching on the employee, they gained a small measure of power over their world. Getting beaten up/bullied as a child will make you feel VERY powerless. Unless that trauma is resolved, that will continue into adulthood. They will then likely lash out in exactly this way.
More likely, they weren’t given the love needed to realise the compounding power of positive action and self confidence. The current manager was using exactly that. He was helping a friend out, at cost to himself. He had the confidence he could deal with the minor loss though, and that it would pay off down the line (even if only in a warm fuzzy feeling, of helping someone out).
Basically, less beatings, more hugs.
The hugs will continue until morale improves.
And yet despite all this, there’s a point where people should just know better.
I think it’s fair to acknowledge people’s struggles and still expect better of them.
people don’t realize every job is held by a human too that probably doesnt care about mundane stuff either
Wow, what a conniving and scheming little tattle-tale.
The sort of person who volunteers to go on weekend “team building exercises” with a replay-all email.
Recently they’d have been advocating a return to the office, despite most of the bosses being happy to carry on working from bed.
I still fantasize about bringing severe misfortune to that woman.
I hope you don’t mean your wife
Nah. While I’ve got zero desire to associate with my ex-wife in any way, shape, or form, we are both substantially different people today than the petulant selfish people we both were when we split up. I wish no ill will toward her.
What was meant as a joke caused a very mature and well-refleced reply.
Thank you for sharing!
“I’m bored. I think I’ll try to destroy someone’s life today, that seems fun.”
Given the “recruiting agency” I wouldn’t put it past someone to go “ooh, maybe if I get them fired, they’ll come to me needing a job!”
So it’s not boredom, it’s just pure malice!
I think it’s the other way around, if they get them fired it’s an open position they can try and fill with somebody already on their books
Absolutely this. No recruiter with any kind of sense is going to go “Hey, does your boss know you’re on Twitter all day? That’s sooooo inappropriate. Imma tell him! Also, when he fires you, I can pair you up with a great opportunity!” If they have a job that needs filling, and they think you’re a fit, they won’t care that you’re already employed. In fact, as they get a percentage of your salary if you sign, they like it that you have some bargaining power.
This is cozying up to the employer, telling them that they have a problem employee, and presenting themselves as a solution to that problem.
More like “I’m board, I’m going to create some fake DM screenshots for Twitter today”
“Nothing is ever real”
That Happened 🙄 Vs Nothing Ever Happens.
It’s incredible what lengths people will go to experience a short high of moral superiority.
Trying to get a stranger fired over nothing is wild.
Given it’s a person from a recruitment agency, I wonder if they intended to double dip, get the poor sap fired then try to both fill the new vacancy they created and help the poor sap they got fired land a new gig through them
Ah, so they’re self serving as well as being a narc? I hate recruitment consultants.
Recruitment agencies, and estate agents, two kinds of people that only exist because they’ve decided the job needs to exist rather than any explicit need, and then other people have decided to make use of their services, even though they’re shit. So now we have to deal with them.
I have my doubts whether they are from an agency at all
He had opinions and posted them on line. The audacity. We can’t have drones thinking on their own.

Organized religion does this daily on a grand scale. The Golden Rule has been superceded by anger, fear, hate, and doubt.
I’m obviously generalizing but history shows again and again that religion no longer favors the meek and honest - it’s all about how much money the church can grab.
Well, yeah… Jesus was super based. But then Constantine saw the writing on the wall, and rebranded the Roman belief system with a Jesus themed naming scheme before his armies started to understand the full scope of Jesus’s teachings, which were a radical third path way of life that made followers useless to Rome and impossible to control
And remember how Rome collapsed, then the church turned into a soft empire for like a thousand years? Remember how they stood above the kings of Europe, dictating who could rule what, in what one might call an empire? Maybe something like the holy Roman empire?
Anyways, I could rant about this for ages, but tldr: Jesus was based, his name was stolen to create a new Roman religion that is in most ways the exact opposite of what he preached
The church has never favored the meed and honest. Every power structure is prone to corruption by self serving individuals.
I feel it’s important to note that there are good churches out there if you use your common sense to discern if your pastor is legit, like the Bible says to.
Tommy should have fucked with him for longer. Been like “message my employer here" -guy texts employer to try to get Tommy in trouble. Boss-“thanks for letting me know, ill make sure to give him a promotion and vacation days. At our company we care about honesty and integrity and twitter is a shithole. Also fuck off I’m my own boss"
No you play it even further. Reply yo text “thank you for informing us. This employee has been terminated.”
Then back on Twitter you reply with how you have been fired, will not be able to pay rent, children will starve, etc etc.
Only after that for a while do you do the big reveal.
Just send them this Lemmy thread so they can see strangers shitting on their behavior.
Some people get high on destroying other people’s lives. I am not sure we are getting close to humanity 2.0 we are stuck at 1.0 stable.
Maybe 1.1 unstable.
Guy’s pretty stupid, he says do you know about your employer Tommy ______. Tommy wouldn’t be his employer. Tommy would be his employee.
I think it’s just a typo, but it’s still proper wanker behaviour.
Tattle telling as an adult is definitely wanker behavior.
This guy clearly gets off on hurting other people and trying to hurt other people, so I say we don’t need to hide this name. Clearly he would actually agrees with doxing behaviour.

Only eugenics program I would support: HOA enthusiasts.
Lol them mistyping and saying “employer” is the cherry on top
Now send it to their boss.
Time to contact a recruitment agency about one of their employee’s awful conduct
Some people were just born bootlickers.
