Ooh, I love rushing towards Kessler Syndrome.

RememberTheApollo_@lemmy.worldto Fuck AI@lemmy.world•AI computers aren’t selling because users don’t care20·2 days agoWhat benefit is there?
AI basically takes what I already see in search results and tries to make it a conversational summary. I don’t want a conversation or to read a made-up wiki summary, just give me the correct and pertinent result. Problem is that they put AI first and search result quality has been deteriorating for years, so two wrongs don’t mean forcing it on users is right.
Here’s the thing… I remember some years back that (I think it was) Denmark had the best educated population or the most college degrees or some such, so your cashier or barista could very easily have a college degree.
The difference is that they get paid far better than retail in the US, get all the benefits of social policy, and from unionization. Vacation time, health care, maternity leave, etc. that retail positions in the US would be highly unlikely to have. I’m sure there’s some social stratification to blue collar positions vs white collar in such a country, but I’m sure it takes a lot of the sting out of it when you’re taking your two weeks vacation on the mediterranean coast.

Absolutely, and not just for meats. Anything that has a temperature requirement for best cooking method.
An instant-read thermometer is a game changer to make sure fish, meat, and anything else that needs it is properly cooked, and just as importantly, not over-cooked.
Yep, seconded. For everyday use those two are really good. I’d also suggest Crystal and Louisiana, but I prefer Cholula out of the lot.
If you’re chasing that flavor try some darker roasts instead of adding salt.
RememberTheApollo_@lemmy.worldto Fediverse@lemmy.world•Stop Internet Searching and Start Asking on Fediverse?English101·2 days agoI don’t use reddit results much at all anymore thanks to it constantly trying to force me to use the app, which I don’t have. I do try to force lemmy into search results by adding it to the search terms when appropriate.
Problem is that Lemmy/Fediverse simply doesn’t have the established depth and breadth of information that reddit does yet, and reddit does have it because it sort of killed the internet forums that would have existed foe those subjects. I agree, it’d be great to have more knowledge sources in Lemmy. Growing the community types would be a start, but that needs people and participation, and growth is hard.

I’l live with the fact I won’t doxx myself, guess you’re gonna have to too. Russian bot? Omg, seriously? No “bot” would have my history here. Grow up.

Don’t be a dick, don’t make anyone’s life worse out of indifference or even temporary malice, don’t make your own life harder because of the aforementioned, and the greatest accomplishment would be to make someone else’s life measurably, permanently better and have no need of credit or compensation for the act.

Their Elysium where corporations treat everyone well and don’t destroy things out of some unforced understanding that to do so would place them at a major disadvantage is a farce. There will always be disparity, and corporations will leverage that to pay the poorer less than the better off, dump waste where there are no rules, and drive people to keep working while bombs fall near their homes.

If high profile wealth wants to play it safe the masses will suffer much greater losses before change can be effected.

Maybe Chris Pratt
John Cleese
Charlize Theron
Lately Millie Bobbie Brown it seems. Even her Holmes stuff is fun.
