Think of all the plastic that ends up in landfills thanks to these “disposable” razors.

And plastic producers have known since its inception that most can’t be recycled.

I’m guessing the metal in the razors could be re-used too. Probably too expensive to do it though.

I would think something like that would be relatively easy to take care of with the metal if there was a cost-effective way to recycle it because the metal would end up in a forge and I don’t think any pathogens could survive that high a heat.

Those aren’t safety razors, just your normal disposable.

Multibladed razors were new around that time, weren’t they? I just remember my dad telling me about the time he first discovered Saturday Night Live in the 70’s because they had a skit about, like, a 12 bladed razor blade and both SNL and the multibladed razor concept was so new he honestly thought he was seeing a real commercial since he just clicked onto the station in the middle of it.

It was, and the SNL skit was actually for a three-bladed razor. “Because you’ll believe anything.”

Gillette now has a five-blade razor.

True, but it was essentially the same joke SNL did with three blades.
