Most of them exist for the most part. The problem is they’ll only have like 20 people.
Or 85 posts a day by 3 different bots with one and only one commenter.
r/buyitforlife is a treasure
It was a treasure until the people pushing their new product started posting.

I just want to chat and joke, discuss laws and politics, see cool new builds and gunsmithing ideas, without the fucking right-wing toxic soup.
The kindness/sanity vs. # of subscribers was astonishing. Everyone was super nice for such a large sub.
Also, where else you going to see trans folks sporting their latest gear? 😆
NGL I miss it too
I’m personally a huge supporter of Pigs for Porkchops, a group where all the pigs can get together and express their love for eating porkchops
I miss the local communities. I like to keep up with what’s going on in my city and surrounding area. I refuse to install Meta apps on my phone, so I can’t view the city Facebook groups and Nextdoor is a pile of garbage.
Frost was a very good foss FB client until recently when it broke:/
We currently have everything that I really wanted coming over. Unfortunately there’s niche stuff here but there’s no one home. I was helping, trying to post in a few of them on a regular basis but there were just crickets
At first I was against the bot onslaught*, but it’s actually kind of nice being able to get my news here.
Honestly even at the levels where we’re at now I think everything is just fine I don’t need Lemmy to feed my doom scrolling and take up massive amounts of time in my day. I’ve become much more productive in all areas since leaving Reddit.
I was helping trying to post in a few of them on a regular basis but there were just crickets
Man, I feel you
More of the animal humor ones. I mean other than some niche communities. Animalsbeingdicks, teefies, silly stuff like that. It’d be a nice eyebleach between all the news articles about war and politics.
Man, I miss r/cronch
There are many that I miss.
r/fanfiction on Reddit is a great community and I had only positive interactions with people. With 350k-400k users and there is a lot of discussions and positive interactions. On Lemmy it’s very baren.
A lot of fandom specific subreddits which are very active have no Lemmy equivalent.
I haven’t logged in to Reddit since the whole API scandal, but I miss it a lot.
If you ever find or start an r/fanfiction alternative I will post stuff there so just lmk
There is !fanfiction@lemmy.ml but the culture is very different from r/fanfiction.
There is !fanfiction@literature.cafe which has the same rules as the subreddit, but is even less active than the first options.
Edited so the links will work.
Datahoarder and buyitforlife
/r/framework
It’s the only thing I specifically seek out on Reddit.
It exists but it doesn’t have the activity/content.
It’s last post was 5 hours ago before that the was an another post 3 days ago and the content is pretty much the same as the main reddit framework sub
in my opinion
FountainPens just one of my smaller less popular hobbies. That and EDC. We do have at least an EDC channel here but it’s now near as big.
I used to use !fountainpens@wayfarershaven.eu but unfortunately they shut down a few days ago.
Gosh I didn’t realize that I miss that.
r/soccer.
I just want my goal highlights without ads.
A community for every video game. It was really nice to start playing a 10-20 year old game and still find a very active community to engage with.
I’d love a sublemmy about Rollercoaster Tycoon
community*
I miss r/Christian, there are very few of us on Lemmy, the communities seem basically empty here.
It seems like the number of people who want to have that community, and the number of people who want to downvote any post that supports Christianity, are roughly equal here.
Same for r/Islam. The couple I found here are abandoned.
Look, you’re being downvoted already, and so will I :)
why don’t you make the next Islam based sub I bet you could do an amazing job at it m8
No, I still need to learn and hope there are people more educated than in me in the matter making the community here alive.
Alright well good luck mate hope you find those people and grow a small community
I’m not religious myself but I well and truly hope all the best to ya
Thank you for the kind words and I hope you can soon become a happy grapefruit.
Lol
Because most people are atheist here. Seems to be side effect of going deeper into the technology hole.
I thought they meant the name and not the religion 😭💀 (yes I’m stupid how did you know)
Not believing in religion on a site like this is kind of a case of it comes with the territory
I think nothing can go wrong with more religious subs the more subs and the more community’s the merrier I wonder what douchebags are downvoting you though
Yeah I don’t get it. If you go on c/Christianity, half the posts have more downvotes than upvotes, and it causes a bunch of people to be inactive. They have over 100 members but nobody posting.
It’s a shame really
funnily enough the same people would probably rant on about and acceptance of others these people really don’t practise what there preach
funnily enough the same people would probably rant on about and acceptance of others they really don’t practise
The only thing we don’t tolerate is intolerance. There’s no problem there.
what there preaching about
Oh. And bad spelling. Read some other books.
I’m reading Lord of the flies by William Golding currently grammar isn’t really my strongsuit
Edit: also the tolerance index is a sack of shite
in my opinion
if people like daryl davis can talk to and befriend the intolerant change there beliefs and make them more tolerant of other people then so can you. Your not obligated to if you don’t want to speak to or associate with that person that’s absolutely fine same applies to that person if they don’t want to associate or do business with youFuck off with this “freedom of association” far right bullshit. It should completely be ignored and it’s promoters should be laughed at
When you know, you’ll know.
community’s
I just downvote bad spellers.

I’d love to see smaller game devs have a federated presence with their content.
Right now, I only use Reddit to keep up with game devs who only post game content and updates on their own subreddit.
An emulation subreddit dedicated to talking about various different video games emulators and emulation itself.i might consider creating lemmy. World emulation subreddit but only if enough people are on board
I’ll join.
Alright I’m going look into creating the sub when I have the time I’ve got the description already written out
I’m looking forward to it. Message me when you got something up.
Ight will do
