t: “I am adding tariffs to the foods you sell.”

Seller: “we will raise our prices to cover the cost of the tariffs.”

Customers: “we can’t afford the foods and won’t buy as much.”

t: “I am removing the tariffs I added earlier. Now you can lower prices.”

Customer: “yeah. Lower your prices now.”

    Seller: “…no.”

Damn, that’s like the most (and only?) real Christian thing he has ever done.

That’s what tyranny is like. It’s very similar to Stockholm syndrome. The person hurting you stops hurting you as much and you thank them for it.

That’s why the US defunded education, then people can’t understand what is being done and accept their propoganda.

Not even hyperbole. Education tends to make people more left, so the right systematically destroyed it in red states. They don’t care that people make worse choices into heir lives, they just want to stay in power.

“Wow, he raised the prices of everything after he campaigned on lowering prices! I love you, Mr. Trump!!”

“Wow, he’s lowering the cost of coffee to a bit higher than it was before he raised the prices of everything! I love you, Mr. Trump!! You’re going all-in on affordability!”

“Wow, the price of coffee is still as high as it was before he signed a bill because American companies realized that Americans will pay the higher price for them! What a brilliant victory for Mr. Trump!!”

That is what these people sound like.

Tyson is closing a major meat processing plant in Nebraska, so prices should stay high because of the artificial bottleneck in the supply chain. Profits however will increase because of lower tariffs

As a Canadian rancher/farmer, I listen to US cattle podcasters and commenters and laugh my fucking ass off. They’re fucking livid. It’s true face-eating leopard time.

Turns out that now that he is older his libido is down. This means less women and children are getting raped. We should applaud him for this reduction!

Prices aren’t coming down because record profits and shareholders. The only thing that will bring prices down in this godforsaken dystopia is guillotines

Perhaps, but I’m sold on the fact that he’s just that stupid. I have a coworker that is a NY Trumper that seriously believed what they were told by the admin about tariffs: that the businesses overseas should pay those, not consumers. I really believe Trump thought that. He’s a cave man.

(Apologies to all the cave man homies out there.)

That’s a fair point. I do favor the hypothesis that he’s only successful as a scam artist, making him effectively a ouija-board planchette controlled by his entourage who are all controlled by billionaires, think tanks, and foreign states.

I think half of america thinks its impossible to be worth millions/billions of dollars and be completely stupid. We are surrounded by absurdly rich imbeciles.
