    Gut bacteria eats things that we do not. Specifically, dietary fiber is consumed and often converted into products we can digest and which affect our health in significant and surprising ways. Other functions of fiber include the removal of toxins from the body through absorption and elimination, and the mechanical removal of waste from the digestive system through sheer bulk and gentle abrasiveness.
