The cable guy. Scary Jim Carey is scary. And the ending was visionary.
Kung pow enter the fist. Screw what the critics and rotten tomatoes score says. The movie is goated!
The Taco Bell jingle has lived rent free in my head for 20 years now
Kung pow and Friday are the 2 movies that I can fully quote in my head. I’m sure if I get Alzheimer’s I will still be able to quote them.
Either my wife or I will bust out “Bye, Felicia” at least once a week.
I hated that movie so much, it also just feels really racist at this point
Rubber. An anthropomorphic car tire. If that doesn’t describe a masterclass in directing I don’t know what does.
Big Trouble in Little China
People don’t like this? Come on, a classic
Aeonflux, except I don’t actually bother trying to defend it.
The movie, or the show?
The movie. Didn’t know there was a show.
The film was better than the old MTV series it was based on. They built a compelling world in the animated version, but the film delivered on that vision.
I unironically love Armageddon and The Core. Yes, they’re both stupid and unrealistic movies, but that works in their favor about as often as against. Something about the way they play with the core concepts makes me love them.
I’m just here for Core support.
I remember the audio commentary on The Core, where the director acted like the movie was very serious. I loved that.
Treasure Planet. There’s weird plot choices, but I loved the mixed animation, the music, the characters.
An actually bad but amazing movie would be Miami Connection. Karate rock band sings about friendship fights motorcycle drug ninjas. Fuck yeah bro.
Reign of Fire.
Who said this movie is bad? That’s the hill on which there is dying.
Tremors 2 is peak cinema IMHO. I only wish they had spent a little more on the CGI, or replaced it all with practical effects.
Came here to mention tremors. It’s my favorite cheesy 90s scifi.
I unironically enjoy the old 2005 Fantastic 4 movie. It was cheesy as fuck, I don’t deny that. But it was fun. And the comics themselves can be as bad or worse sometimes.
Also I like Julian McMahon.
Also also, Chris Evans towel scene.
Now imagine that… but all over
I’ve always enjoyed them, but my one complaint specifically for the first one is that everything feels SO MUCH like a set. Every exterior city scene feels like an SNL sketch
Flight of the Navigator
How dare you. Flight of the Navigator is a masterpiece.
He failed geography. That’s a pretty shit navigator…
Buckaroo Banzai
That theme song is a legit banger. And my god the quotes… “No, no, no, don’t tug on that. You never know what it might be attached to.” or “It drives like a truck.” “Good. What is a truck?” or “I’ve been ionized but I’m ok now.” or my favorite “DAMN JOHN WHORFIN AND THE HORSE HE RODE IN ON!”
“What’s the deal with the watermelon?”
“Umm…I’ll tell you later.”
“You can check your anatomy all you want, and even though there may be normal variation, when it comes right down to it, this far inside the head it all looks the same.”
The faculty? Oh that’s a good one.
2012
Hudson Hawk. Criminally underrated.
It’s so stupid. I love it.
If you remember the 80s at all, then “Hot Tub Time Machine” is the greatest comedy ever created.
If you don’t remember the 80’s, then " Hot Tub Time Machine" is the greatest comedy ever created.
I remember the sequel being really mid to bad. But i wanna watch hot tub time machine now
Has it been over a week since your last viewing? Then you should watch it!
