Extra apropos points (apropoints?) because Theophania is also Greek.

Yo, wtf? And I quote from that wiki article:

“The first known vending machine, created in the 1st century CE by Hero of Alexandria, dispensed holy water. This invention predates the modern concept of vending machines by nearly 2,000 years, making it seem anachronistic in ancient history.”

Dispensed in exchange for a coin.

Similar to modern machines, Heron’s device required inserting a coin into a slot. The coin fell onto a pan that was connected to a lever, which opened a valve on the other end where the holy water flowed out. The pan continued to move under the weight of the coin until, eventually, the coin slid off. The lever would then raise back to its initial state and close the valve, stopping the flow of water.

Growing up, every kid I knew named Jason was a total fucking asshole except for one. Fuck you, Jasons (except for you, Jason, you were cool).

Now in the twilight of middle age, one of my best friends is a Jason so the universe balanced it out I guess.

The sons of Lehi in the book of Mormon are:

    • Laman
    • Lemuel
    • Nephi
    • Sam

I think the writer just lost interest in weird names

      The writer’s siblings:
      Alvin
      Hyrum
      Sophronia
      Samuel
      William
      Katharine
      Don Carlos?
      Lucy

So less lost interest in weird names and more Gary Stu

It’s so weird that names mean stuff and aren’t just a feel. How many cultures besides Americans have names with no meaning?

Basically all names have meaning if you trace the etymological roots back far enough - even American’s. In most cases, those meanings are just unknown to the people passing them down.
