their music also has a bunch of grindcore in-jokes too - mostly around surf punk or metal cliches

News@lemmy.world•15 People Have Died in Crashes Where Tesla Doors Wouldn’t Open | There are no official statistics on the dangers of electric handles. So Bloomberg did its own analysis.
1·13 hours agoI’m one of these people. 99% of my driving is within a 30 mile radius, inside a city. And the ~2 interstate trips I make a year are just sitting on an interstate highway for 4 hours.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What do you think is an overrated food?
71·19 hours agoI ate Scott Conant’s lamb tagliatelle Ragu and it was really good. Fresh pasta hand made to order by a pro is worth it.
I used to tie up this lady sometimes who’d get very annoyed by riggers who wanted to make it look nice, as it’s time a-wasting. Always think that’s a funny disconnect between rigger and rope bunny.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•If you had too, how would go about running a Instagram account?
1·1 day agonot Instagram but
a) I was medium large on Twitter in its heyday (way before Musk) - 10k followers, average of 100 likes per tweet, big ones doing 100k
b) my wife’s friend (and mine) is an IG fashion lady who has 100k followers.
Generally, to make it successful, you post all day every day exactly one type of content. Easy for me as I wrote jokes and sketches, which is what I like doing - but it does become a job.
Anthony Joshua, Boxer who fought Jake Paul and broke his jaw. The meme is celebrating that.

Which we’re not.
I’d even kill Nazis quickly.

2·2 days agoPart of my idea is that you build your character from your choices - which are tied to cards. I couldn’t work out a good way to get of gendered cards (King/Queen) so I figured maybe you could choose gendered influence over your characters using the semiotics of the cards.
On the other hand - everything could be a slider, or even better, a wheel.

3·2 days agoI think that’s probably a scale thing that my 2D card game can probably handle. If you recall D1 used to kick you out of menus and d2 did I think until Forsaken DLC.
I think a UX thing is I want to group or clearly label settings that require a game reset.
padding
At the risk of getting flamed - I wonder if because CSS is a design tool not a programming tool, it will seem unintuitive to people from a technical background, but more intuitive to people from a design/arts background
I think OP is saying it doesn’t have smooth sides or corners and is not a quad at all, but actually an irregular polygon due to the jittered sides and overlapping corners.
hell yeah brother

Fuck AI@lemmy.world•AI was behind over 50,000 layoffs in 2025
4·3 days agowhenever we talk about a “RIF” at work (reduction in force) I shoehorn “layoffs” “firings” “unemployment” into the conversation to re-humanize the cost.
Well it’s provenance was from
6-7, I just bipped right on the highway (Bip, bip) Skrrt, uh (Bip, bip, bip) I just bipped right on the highway (Bip) Trackhawk, mm, sittin' in the driveway (Skrrt) Uh, pull up, doot-doot, doo-doo-dooWhich, translated is “I have committed a car jacking / stolen a car and during the commission of this crime, have murdered someone”
it then came to prominence in being cut over footage of a basketball player who is 6’7" - using dramatic irony to suggest his height is murderous in the game.
the jingle bells are an important safety feature - you are raising the likelihood of a collision

One has to suffer sometimes to learn a lesson. God knows I’ve suffered for some of my mistakes in my life. Its not the only way to learn but sometimes it’s the only way to learn.
