You totally should! My husband and I made his (partial) fursuit, and it was a ton of work but super enjoyable to see the end result. And sooo much cheaper, this was like a decade ago but we spent maybe $250 total.
He’s already an artist and I already knew how to sew, so we had a leg up, but there’s a ton of great tutorials and videos out there for it if you’re starting from zero.
These tutorials were a lifesaver for us, if you don’t already know the site.
Thanks! But I just don’t have the mediums rn. That’s why I’ve though on buying on first place, doesn’t matter If I have to do it secretly if I ever had the chance haha. Be aware I’m practically a closet queer and a neet :'3. Also there’s zero furry stuff where I live, probably I may be the only furry around here. I may check the tutorials but I don’t see getting the materials easily, not even close to 3d printing the bases.
I’m a huge believer in “every self made fursuit is a good fursuit”, but if you want to build your skills up before tackling an expensive project then designing plushies is definitely a great way to do that 👍
Yeah, I just though of that after saying that. But I don’t see myself explaining my family I want to do a big anthro suit of a character that is femboyish with out being it being akward or smt. May be too complicated to explain my full context here. Idk if Lemmy has DMs. Just le me say that here may be even harder to get this stuff than Europe or the US
You don’t have to explain, I’m totally familiar with having to hide furry stuff from family. We ordered most of the fur online, but I know that can be hard too depending on shipping costs. 🫶
Nah I didn’t but personally I like more Kemono style fursuits. I guess I could try to make one for my char one day

Hmm… probably I could start disguising it… idk, maybe learning to do plushes first and eventually get enough material for the fursuit.
