Having lost small amounts of money in investment scams, it was when someone claimed to be able to get the money back - plus returns - that the situation snowballed.

I wonder if this was planned right from the start that they would be back for more?

    Yeah, I had a similar reaction myself when reading this. On one hand, I do feel sorry for them, on the other hand, how thick can you get?

      Remember, that bell curve. For every reasonably smart person (115+) there exists an incredibly stupid person (85-).

      Ok, that’s not really how it works. But you get my drift, assuming your level of knowledge is the same as others knowledge, isn’t really reasonable.
