It’s 100% going to be abandoned because they can’t compete marketing the engine out to other devs similar to what Crytek attempted with CryEngine. Unreal Engine is free so more artists can use it in their free time, and it simply is much easier to develop on to with shorter turn over in time spent developing assets.
