New Hampshire is sooo hurt that they are no longer the first Democratic Primary state that they are holding a fake primary on the previous date that won’t be recognized. And Biden won’t even be on the ballot. Because of that, Democrats in NH are worried that Biden “losing” their fake primary will be seen as Biden not doing well and causing him to suffer in the general.

“This was political malpractice of the highest order because it was totally unnecessary and totally self-inflicted,” said a New Hampshire Democrat and Biden ally who has decades of experience in presidential primaries, requesting anonymity to speak candidly.

Yup. Totally hurting the party they actually support because a party dared not to make them the fucking DNC Line Leader.

They’re pumping out tons of “Biden doesn’t care about NH” ads, saying he hasn’t even campaigned here. It’s fucking hilarious if you know why he isn’t campaigning here.

I might write him in, but only because I forgot to switch to independent last election and can’t vote against Trump next week.

Democrats are remarkably good at snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Stupid shit like this is what hurts the actual elections because they either throw temper tantrums about not being first, or try to force people to toe the party line in completely unnecessary circumstances.

They did this in 2016 by forcing Hillary down our throats (she may or may not have won a legitimate primary, but when all the super delegates preemptively go for one candidate, it kind of tells their voters to suck a dick, they’ll decide what’s best), and look what happened. Now they’re in another race where it’s the Dem’s election to lose, and they’re fighting to do so.

The Dem’s motto should be good plan, terrible execution.

Yeah I got it last after reading the article. Was more commenting on the inadequacy of the summary. Then again, the summary was so confusing that it made me read the article…

This is the best summary I could come up with:

PORTSMOUTH, N.H. — Like a jilted lover reluctantly coming to the aid of a former partner in need, New Hampshire Democrats have largely decided to help Joe Biden win their beloved primary this month — even though many are still mad he tried to kill it.

But his performance against weak opposition from Rep. Dean Phillips, D-Minn., and self-help author Marianne Williamson will nonetheless be judged as a measure of his political health at a moment when Democrats are already anxious about his campaign.

Biden ended up in this strange predicament when he tried last year to do what many Democrats say is long overdue: Dethrone overwhelmingly white Iowa and New Hampshire and add more diversity to the top of the presidential primary process.

Armed with a century of history, its swing state status and a law mandating New Hampshire hold its primary a week before any others, the Republicans who control the government in Concord had no qualms about ignoring the DNC.

There are 21 other Democrats on the ballot — New Hampshire makes it easy to run for office — and the space to write in Biden’s name comes directly under that of Vermin Supreme, the perennial candidate known for wearing a boot on his head.

And New Hampshire Democrats are convinced Biden is not going anywhere, careful to direct all their criticism at the DNC and not at the president himself, like feudal lords excoriating the king’s ministers while praising the man on the throne.

The original article contains 1,775 words, the summary contains 248 words. Saved 86%. I’m a bot and I’m open source!

Because he didn’t register to be on the ballot since NH threw a hissy fit over not being directly after the Iowa caucus as it has been since forever. So the DNC removed their delegates for choosing a presidential candidate and now the NH primary has no baring in choosing the democratic candidate for president.

        From the article: (emphasis mine)

Last year, Biden tried to end New Hampshire’s 100-year reign as the nation’s first presidential primary state when he directed the Democratic National Committee to overhaul the 2024 primary calendar by putting South Carolina (which he won in 2020) ahead of New Hampshire (which he lost).

New Hampshire, whose political class holds the primary as sacred as the Red Sox, just went ahead and scheduled its primary in its usual place right after Iowa’s caucuses, essentially telling the DNC to go pound granite and even threatening the committee with legal action. (As a result, the DNC says it won’t seat New Hampshire’s delegates at the summer nominating convention.)

This is the same “BerNiE or BuST” democratic voters’ strategy that gave us Trump in 2016.

Or everyone could highlight the ridiculousness of the whole thing without hurting Biden’s prospects OR waste a lot of effort on a write-in campaign by all voting for this dude.

    What’s so weird about it?

NH Democrats are basically taking the rational step of snuffing out an embarrassing situation for Biden created by the GOP-run state legislature.
