I’ve been doing Phraks Greyskull LP for the past couple months with the main goal of getting stronger in all of my lifts, but with the sub-goal of a 225lb squat so I could have a number to reach for.
Previously I’ve done StrongLifts, and I was able to hit a 225lb squat in the past using that program, but stopped training soon after and hadn’t been in the gym for over a year until starting this program. I think I lost motivation because I’m only able to workout after the kids go to bed, and the gym was too far of a drive, and the workouts were too long. It felt like I had no time to relax on those days. So I found a gym that’s much closer, and picked a program that has me doing 3x5 instead of 5x5 for all my lifts. I feel much better with my current setup.
I’m a 31yo male 5’ 11’'. My starting weight was 205lbs, but I’ve lowered it to right around 195lbs since starting.
Here’s my progress:
exercise | start | current | notes |
---|---|---|---|
Squat 3x5 | 155lb | 225lb | |
Bench 3x5 | 125lb | 185lb | |
Deadlift 1x5 | 185lb | 255lb | |
Pendlay Row 3x5 | 115lb | 165lb | |
Overhead Press 3x5 | 85lb | 115lb | I can’t get this to budge |
Next number to reach for is a 275lb squat!
Nice job reaching your goal, and good luck hitting 275!
That’s an awesome achievement! Keep up the good work, stay locked in and the next PR is coming your way!
