About a decade ago, Tesla rigged the dashboard readouts in its electric cars to provide “rosy” projections of how far owners can drive before needing to recharge, a source told Reuters.

        I wouldn’t say that, but they can fuck with authorities and keep them tied up in lawsuits and legal bullshit for years, just long enough for the populace to elect the other side, who drops the case.
