Donald Trump won back the Oval Office and took charge of the government amid the strongest poll numbers of his political career, but as the 100-day mark of his presidency approaches, Americans’ views of what he’s done so far have turned deeply negative, a new CNN poll conducted by SSRS finds.
Yep.
I am deeply disappointed in my fellow americans, and I absolutely find our conservatives in particular to be selfish, bigoted, reprehensible pricks, but bottom line is there’s no war but class war.
It’s not the death of a CEO that makes Luigi Mangione so scary to the 1%. They give no shits about his life any more than they do ours. They can beef up their security and go back to ignoring the herd of human resources just like before.
But folks on the US left and right were vocally behind him for a time. I think it shocked everyone, at all levels, a little bit, at how relatively little it took to rouse some class-consciousness. It was definitely noticed.
Edit - I suspect, but do not know, that this is also somewhat true for Elon and Tesla. I have this feeling that there’s a sizable chunk of the US-right who hate him just as much as the US-left does, they just don’t feel empowered to openly express it.
Even a solid portion of Cybertruck owners hate him now. They blew like $100,000 and got nothing but recalls and teen girls laughing at them at every third stoplight. There’s some sort of forum they all post in and I’ve seen dozens of schadenfreude screenshots of them complaining.
Full disclosure: I have a Tesla battery on my house. I didn’t choose it; the solar install company did. The the brand wasn’t even toxic yet but I covered up the logo with WWOZ (our local, non-profit radio station) stickers. I’m not paying to be some company’s billboard.
