A rather late in the week thread for discussing the wild, whacky and utterly mundane of life in our isolated corner of the planet.

May seem like the dumbest thing but here’s the win of the week:

My preferred needles have had a supply shortage since 2022…

The manufacturer won’t supply 100 packs or give any ETA on when the shortage will end.

The needle cap is uniquely different in a way that makes it way more comfortable. Went down the route of 3d printing little pieces to compensate for the difference with a friend but it was a lot of bother and eventually just put up with the less comfortable needles.

Found a pack of the old ones cleaning my locker at work… been living the high life working through those.

Stopped off at the pharmacy on the way home from a movie and they have some random needle brand that I’ve never heard of making them the more comfortable way.

I’m so excited, it’s literally made my whole night!!!

Ah small wins, they’re the best to take a quiet pleasure with.

But, ugh! Needles, i hate those fuckers, i’d rather vaccines be delivered by means of punch to the face!

At least thats if we’re talking the subdermal type, but if we’re talking knitting needles, i got no beef.

I reread it, you’re talking the bad type… ugh! I’m glad you’ve found a comfy type again. Although i cannot believe there is any such needle.

Isn’t there a use by on those things? I’d imagine the tips could become rusty over time.

In this case it’s insulin which means they are at least extremely small in length.

Mostly you barely notice then sometimes you forget to rotate injection site and jab into a bruise.

Think there is a use by, but they’re sealed and still comfy so I’d rather they didn’t go to waste.

Oh yeah, i suppose theres gradients of how bad needles can be. I remember a scan where they injected ink into me, that was horrible. I could feel the difference in temperature as it spread through my body.

Yeah, contrast traces aren’t on the nice end of the spectrum.

            I hate the metallic taste.

Can assure you that insulin shots are like mosquito bites in comparison 😄
