It’s just amazing that even with the bar so low they’ll still fight you on whether people actively doing labour deserve to afford to live or not. Like, it’s the simplest thing and even this they cannot handle.
The ultra rich absolutely are addicted, 100% agree. The worst part for me is that it’s the workers who are fighting for the billionaires. I mean, who hears someone say that working fulltime shouldn’t mean a living wage and then goes “hell yea”?
In the end, all their talking points circle around to worrying about billionaires living the country and taking the money with them, or outsourcing all their jobs if minimum wage goes up, or whatever else. So many of them know that the ultra rich are the enemy and they’ll even say it out loud but are so utterly spineless that they would rather beat down impoverished people, including themselves, than fight back against the people they know are killing them.
