    Ahh, not a new idea.

This has been a thing for at least as long as I’ve been alive. People will mix all kinds of citrus and dairy, even just by shaking or stirring plain milk and regular OJ in a cup and drinking it.

There’s a drink called a morir soñondo that’s dairy and citrus and I’ve seen it made with milk, orange juice, and a little sugar. Typically it’ll be something like cream, yogurt, or evaporated milk, maybe sweetened condensed milk.

There’s creamsicles and orange julius that are similar.

There’s dozens of cocktail recipes that blend the flavors, or use them as ingredients directly. Many of those are aiming to mimic a creamsicle tbh.

There’s orange soda floats, and even orange juice floats. Just a big ol scoop of vanilla ice cream in your orange beverage of choice.

Now, is plain OJ mixed with milk great? No. It’s a little bland. It really needs something else to make it something worth repeating. Just sugar isn’t enough imo. You gotta step it up to something like candied orange peel blended into it, or maybe just orange flavored sugar (basically orange syrup cooked down, or the excess sugar from candying oranges). And it’s better as a frozen/slushy kind of drink. Iced just doesn’t make it soothe the throat the way it does when it’s slushy.

But it sure as hell seems crazy the first time you think of it! Like, you can acidulate milk for use in baking, and acids tends to coagulate milk, so it seems horrible. And, I would imagine if you just let it sit there it would be. So, you drink it quick :)
