fediverse via l’instance jlai.lu [http://jlai.lu].
Example (others have been removed as that person has been banned)
I have to disagree with users saying it’s just a bunch of communists and rich college kids.
I think the core of that instance is a state-funded disinformation effort. Sure, there are real people on there, especially vegans, leftists extremists, queer people, Arabic people, because they’re the target of their propaganda.
Reddit is 50/50 Tankies & Nazis. Fediverse is like 90% Tankies & other terrorist simps, even outside of the Tankie instances. It’s a complete clown show on all platforms honestly. I almost wish climate change wasn’t such a slow cooking thing.
I mean, I blocked all the .ml / hexbear / grad communities, all the news communities and all the other communities who refuse to moderate disinformation or calling me a troll for reporting & calling out terrorist simps, all the meme communities, all the sport communities… Not much left here I’m afraid and it makes me wanna interact less with people, not more, since apparently the world is just going insane it seems.
Maybe it’s only a way for them to express their disagreement with the actions if the israelian government ? As this is deemed antisemitic, it might cause overreaction…
Yeah, no. If you’re simping for literal terrorists just because “Israel bad” then you’ve completely lost the plot. If Israel would act like those groups, the death toll, destruction, and other crimes would be in the millions. One can disagree with the Israeli government and still not end up simping for terrorists. I do, and I get shat on from both sides for it. Great times.
Well, it’s a little more than " Israël bad". More like “Israel supposed to be good but kills tens of thousands of children, women and men, destroys any possible future for nations (incl. itself), ignores UN resolutions for years and is actively expanding colonies on extremist religious grounds and far right supremacist views”. So " Hamas bad" …
What is hexbear? I have heard many people taking about it, but sure why users from that instance are aggressive/rude
A role-playing instance where disaffected middle-class American boys act as third-world revolutionaries from the mid-1980s.
Oh and they like to communicate by image reactions because that’s how Twitch raised them.
Tankies are actually overwhelmingly high-class. Usually college kids
I’d still put most college kids into middle class, though I’m sure there’s a spread.
Oh, these are rich college kids. Mummy and daddy own a mansion kind of rich college kid.
I think it’s guilt that makes them so crazy.

“State funded” could mean anything.
Although now that I think about it Lemmy could be state funded.
I think it’s the CCP, distant second guess is the Kremlin.
it’s basically reddit but edgy by rich college kid standards

That is an awful way to look at communities. You should probably expand your horizons a bit and start interacting with more people

Yeah I agree that there’s a lot of bs on lemmy. but reddit is more normie, I don’t think it’s a split between nazis and tankies
Yeah, disinformation is out of control here
should post some of your chains on taking down the disinformation
Yeah, I’ve been thinking it might be time to put together some actual analysis of disinformation on Lemmy.
do it
I guess if you’re looking for them that hard then it’s all you’ll see in your feed. Where do you buy brushes that big, btw?
I don’t, that’s the problem. It’s not really my fault that suddenly everyone roots for Hamas & Hezbollah or thinks other nonsensical bullshit.

Those who fall for the division can’t see the larger picture. Or perhaps they can, and they revel in it.

Call it whatever you want. It still doesn’t make terrorists good by proxy of Israel’s sins.
Its more of a vocal 1%
