  • Heart to heart here: we both want the same things, I think. I’m also trans, I’m also scared of emboldened Republicans. I’m not trying to distract from the horrible things they’re doing, but we can criticize multiple things at once. I voted Democrat in the last election, because I wanted to avoid what we’re getting now. However, it is important to know that the Democrats are no saviors, merely a less bad option. I want the kinds of people who blindly support the dems to say bad things are bad no matter who does it, because then we can more easily build solidarity and political momentum to change things. I’m probably not gonna heavily focus on it for the next 4 years, but, assuming we still have elections in the future, the Democrats will probably win decent control, and I want people to pressure them to actually do things and not be content with them merely being not Trump.

  • That’s false, but why do you come in here and assume that? Why do you hear criticism and immediately feel compelled to come up with some imaginary crime OP committed?

In simple terms, some of us don’t like when bad things happen, and think bad things are bad no matter who does them. There are a lot of people who just do a tribalistic “Trump bad Biden good” and ignore bad things from Biden. I think we can mostly agree that Biden’s better than Trump, but that doesn’t excuse the bad things he did and that Kamala promised to keep doing. If we care about stopping bad things, we have to be willing to see when the “good side” do bad things too.
