Viele Menschen haben auch einfach noch keinen tieferen Kontakt mit dem Thema gehabt und kennen nur Vorurteile. Bei uns in der Gruppe wurde “schwul” früher auch als Schimpfwort benutzt, aber ich glaube keiner von uns hatte wirklich etwas gegen schwule, es war einfach eine Abgrenzung von uns zu “Menschen die anders sind”. Als sich dann einer von uns dazu bekannt hat wurde sich zum ersten mal wirklich damit auseinander gesetzt.

While I agree that socialism is a good ideology, we are definitely far away from actual socialism in Europe. We have social welfare states, yes. They have socialist elements, and many other elements that contradict it. They are not socialist. Whats the point in pretending they already are?

My point was, when you say things like “European Socialism”, that would be interpreted as what countries like Romania, Poland, Czechoslowakia or East Germany were like until around 1990. It was catastrophic.
