ramenshaman@lemmy.worldto Cast Iron@lemmy.world•New to this. How oily should my pan be between uses?English2·20 hours agoOh right. Every now and then (maybe every year or two if I’ve been using it a lot or if it starts getting a little gnarly) I’ll use a tiny bit of soap when I clean it then I’ll re-oil it, usually with olive oil. Maybe not best practice but it’s been working fine for me.
ramenshaman@lemmy.worldto Cast Iron@lemmy.world•New to this. How oily should my pan be between uses?English5·1 day agoI imagine there are many ways to nicely clean cast iron but I ended up buying that little chain mail scrubber that Loge sells. I rinse it, sometimes with hot water, scrub it fairly well, then put it on the stove and heat the water away so it doesn’t rust.

I confess I read a few paragraphs and looked at the pictures but didn’t watch the video. Thanks for the info, I’ll have to look closer in the back seat next time I get the chance. If they don’t have the same well-hidden mechanical release that the front seats have then that’s absurdly dangerous.
ramenshaman@lemmy.worldto Fuck Cars@lemmy.world•Tesla Owners are Installing DIY Rip Cords to Avoid Being Trapped in Their Vehicles in Case of FireEnglish73·4 days agoThis article might be misleading. Every Tesla I’ve ever been in has a purely mechanical door handle/latch to open each of the 4 doors. It’s legitimately hidden in plain sight, so if nobody tells you that it’s there you might not find it but it’s very easy to access if you know it’s there. They absolutely should make it more obvious that it’s there. Maybe there are some models that don’t have it? Not sure. I’ve been in the S, 3, and Y.
Edit: not misleading, see following replies.
The sprained ankle wasn’t from being kicked. They have a “light sparring” class which I haven’t done yet. I’ve been kickboxing for about 9 months, we’re either hitting a bag or doing partner work where one person is using mitts or paddles which the other person strikes in a predetermined combo. I got the mouth guard and the shin guards, hoping to try it out in the next couple of weeks.
The sprained ankle was from doing a switch kick in the air and falling on my ass. The ankle that was supporting my weight when I fell was the one that got sprained.
One of my goals in life is to never get kicked in the head. Maybe going to kickboxing isn’t a good idea.
37 here, my knees are great. Sprained my ankle back for the very first time back in November in my kickboxing class and I’m starting to fear I’ve done permanent damage.

I might be in the same boat. I have my evaluation scheduled later this month
It was pretty fucking blatant, actually.
