Using an app with account switching helps and isn’t that difficult. Also I think you fundamentally don’t understand the fediverse and maybe should find an alternative if you’re unwilling to make your own instance. There’s plenty of fixes for your issues and signing up and trying out different instances isn’t difficult. I also find it a little bit suspicious to post this to a more heavily moderated fine tuned instance as well and seems borderline like you’re stirring the pot to cause drama because we specifically fly in the face of what you’re after here.

It was never about protecting kids and the title makes it sound like it was. It is about decimating rights and distracting and dividing us further so they can stay in power. It’s not a surprise they would go after adults next.

This is exactly it. We can’d do things individually that make enough of a dent. I admire the people who truly do care, research, put time effort into trying to contribute what they can, but unfortunately a lot of people claiming to be green are taking very superficial actions. They do little to no research and purchase greenwashed products which make those same corporations contributing to the problem even more rich, and also harm the earth even more while using those products because a lot of them are actually worse to begin with. They want to feel good about themselves and in control while also doing very little if nothing. That’s why I dislike the attitude of toxic positivity and acting like if we just make a plan it will all be fine. It allows people to remain willfully ignorant and feel good about nothing and makes it so it’s even harder to enact real, meaningful change. The whole system needs to change, it’s a global problem, and we all need to come together to fight this but we can’t stop arguing online over the most simple things. With all that, and seeing more and more evidence we’re crash landing past the point of making a change that will matter is extremely discouraging, and I think it’s okay to feel that way. Change begins with facing the reality of things.

Stainless steel, all the coatings are coming out as bad for our health, and non-stick doesn’t last. Enamel can chip and also expose cheap material and that can also be bad for your health. Get bar keepers friend to remove spots or tough stuff, throw it in the dishwasher, it can take a beating especially if you put some money into it. It may not be quite as low maintenance as others but it’s a lot less than cast iron and you can use whatever in it. They heat up beautifully too. Total game changer.

This interaction made me really happy. I miss when we could talk to each other online like this. Some people treat each other like they are so dumb for not knowing something but we have the power to help each other and learn together within reason and personal boundaries of course and this is such a shining example.

Mastodon and Lemmy share the same issue. The people who created them don’t seem to be very great, or honest people. They both seem to go against what I understand Beehaw to stand for. Look no further than Mastodon merging with Meta. I’ve always been concerned about that. It’s fine to have different ideals but when they are politically or financially motivated and will cause great harm to many people that are already on the lower rungs of society it doesn’t feel like these places will hold up overtime and I believe we will see this devolve to become similar to twitter and that’s what I see from the creators of both places. A lot of people don’t seem to start out where I do and I’ve been outcast plenty for it but at least it was better here. My starting point is who made this, what are their intentions vs actions, and will I be safe both short and long term. That is what I care about and all signs point to no for both with lemmy and mastodon. Being disabled means it’s hard for me to get out and socialize safely for a myriad of reasons and this project means a ton to me. It’s given me a place to brave the intense toxicity of the current internet and chat with some cool people. Whatever happens thank you for showing me there is humanity left in the world.

I would probably follow beehaw elsewhere as long as it was safe to do so for me. I think this is something important to keep alive wherever it may be. I also think for anyone who wants to stay on lemmy and would miss beehaw, if you can create your own. It may not be the easiest thing thing for everyone to do but I’m sure there are more people out there who want a space that has the simple fundamental rule of be nice. We need more of this online and honestly trying to keep it within the confines of lemmy alone doesn’t make sense. Spread kindness and let the spirit of beehaw grow far and wide.

Do you have any tips or articles or anything you could share or recommend to make Firefox more like Chromium? I’m really struggling with Firefox glitching and hanging and having lots of issues and have for years but at this point that’s better than the nonsense Google is pulling I guess.

Because it’s nearly impossible to find good content let alone find what I’m after. The algorithm is constantly pushing things I don’t want to see. I’d be happy to pay if that weren’t the case.

Sounds about right. Republicans will gladly step in their own pile of garbage just to be able to point and laugh at the other guy they perceive as their enemy.

This isn’t funny. This is all harmful. People out there are taking this seriously, getting more riled up, and it’s going to cause harm to others. This is putting yet another target on LGBTQ+ people and someone with a gun is going to see this and think they are doing the right thing because the propaganda is so bad.

The left needs to take these things way more seriously and stop laughing it off then wondering why and how things like Jan 6th happened and acting all shocked like it came out of the blue. This is how these things keep happening. Just because it’s stupid or nonsense to you doesn’t mean it is to everyone watching it. Please I implore people to think of the ripple effects.
