  • If you’re poor then you’re basically mentally ill.

I couldn’t afford anxiety/depression meds and went to a professional. Literally told me, almost verbatim, “I don’t think you’re a danger to anyone or yourself, but I’m going to put you down as 5150. After a holding period you’ll get medicine.”

Thought about it, decided no as I didn’t want to screw up my background checks just to get medicine.

“Well I already put it down.”

I didn’t want to fight my way through two guards (though I wish I would have tried) so I had to go through a shitty, depressing, and degrading experience. And I couldn’t afford the medicine they prescribed me. The entire point of lying to game the system, the entire point of fucking me while acting like a savior, and I couldn’t even get medicine.

So yeah. Tagged as being a danger to myself or others because I didn’t have money to buy medicine… and a mental health professional thought she figured out a lifehack and tested it on a real person.

  • Kids will push the limits, school shootings are a thing, kids are going to joke/mull the concept of shootings like anything else.

I guess the plan is to increase school shootings and their prominence in people’s minds, but also come down increasingly hard on anyone who happens to have it affect them the wrong way.

(The child must learn how to hide from shooters. It must wear bullet proof backpacks. It must hear about shootings all year, every year. It must never make light of this topic, or else.)

  • Skyrim seemed worse when it came to grinding. It’s too easy not to sit there and train on the invincible NPCs. Sneak walk into walls within earshot of hostiles, spam conjuration on rocks near hostiles, shoot arrows at NPCs that never die.

The person who grinds speed and athletics in Morrowind goes on to do cool things. In Skyrim they’d have like 8 more hours of playtime before they could play the game.

  • Wow, and I consider steam to be utter trash. It uses more resources than the games I want to play. A web browsing engine, in the software that’s the only way to launch the game you paid for, just to show bargain bin shit. But I’m not interested in that, I just want to have a place to shop, and then the ability to use the things I bought. I don’t want to drive to Walmart to play the music I bought, I don’t want my computer to load Walmart just so I can play a game. It’s crazy how bad Steam has become.
