Android@lemmy.world•The 1st Ever Golden Lemmy Award for Best Android DeviceEnglish
2·2 years agoSince the death of my YotaPhone 2 I’d been so unhappy with every phone purchase until I got a Blackview BV6600 pro.
The battery is enormous, both in capacity and physical size but I still only charge it every 2 or 3 days.
It has an FLIR thermal heat camera built-in. It’s so much more useful than I imagined. I used it at work today to find where a mouse was hiding, I used it at home to find a hidden power cable behind a wall.
It’s waterproof and shock proof and I can forgive it for not having an e-ink screen on the back.

I once ran a computer training course in a room with motion activated lights. Every time I set the trainees an exercise the lights went off. I told them that when it need happened I wanted them all to raise their arms and wave because “many hands make light work”
It amused me, anyway.

3·2 years agoThe blueberry leaf tea grown in Georgia is one of the tastiest teas I’ve tried. Whenever I’ve been to the Adjara region it’s always on the boil, ready to drink.

Australia@aussie.zone•Families distressed after 'highly misleading' video used by anti-Voice campaigners goes viral
64·2 years ago“Should aboriginals have a say in parliament?”
What that means is saved for future debate. Is deliberately vague so that parliament can decide how it’s implemented and most importantly change it in the future without having another referendum.
The referendum is necessary to change the constitution, as that’s the only process available to do so.
So all they’re asking is whether the aboriginal voice should be heard when deciding on laws.
The no campaign are calling it racist because it’s giving special treatment to one group. Of course, if most of them hadn’t been slaughtered then they would not be such a minority in the first place.

Edit: fyi 360 degree cameras take photos using an Equirectangular projection

I’ve bought the occasional book from it. It doesn’t seem that useful or good value for other things (I’ve only lived in Europe and Australia)
