This is why people on Lemmy can be naive. A lot of people on Lemmy say the Dems need to take X position or need Y policies to get the Republican voter base.

It doesn’t matter. They vote against their best interests and they’ll do it again. They have no beliefs.

  • I was watching a fitness YouTuber and they were saying that most influencers are basically on some type of drug(s). However, those that aren’t… if they want to maintain a good lifestyle that focusing on just exercise isn’t going to burn as much as you think. A lot of the day-to-day things like walking have a larger effect than you think. If you have a desk job you’re going to have to put a bit more effort to burn those calories.

When I used to live in the UK, I used to walk 20K steps per day without trying. Moved to Canada and I struggle to hit 10K. I have friends that make fun of me for parking further away and say “who enjoys walking?”.

  • I had a coworker do that once. We both attended a wedding and we couldn’t stay in the town overnight due to other obligations and caught a train back to London.

He tried to proselytize. I was like, oh I used to be religious. My brother was a Mormon at one point. Then it gets to a point where they need to ridicule Mormonism and defend Christianity and I find that amusing while I was sealioning.

  • What’s going on with your keyboard? I’m curious, what’s your native language?

I don’t think I really understood the compilation portion.

Compiling in the web world can also include … type checking which I think is good, minifying code which is good, bundling code which is good. I understand that in this article that they allude to the fact that those can be bad things because devs just abuse it like expecting JavaScript to tree shake and since they don’t understand how tree-shaking works, they will just assume it does and accidentally bloat their output.

Also some static site generators could do things that authors and stuff don’t think about like accessibility and all that.

    It’s definitely funny.

I remember he blundered a piece a few years back and he realized it just cost him the game. He then put his head in his hands and then just leaned back his head as if he’s just accepted it.

Someone on YouTube then says, “when the computer realizes you lost and then switches to pleasure mode to cheer you up”
