I know of a guy that installed a drive through car wash in his driveway. Nobody goes there but it’s apparently really loud when it runs and his son ran through it one time. He got pretty banged up.

happysplinter@lemmy.worldto Games@lemmy.world•What's a cancelled game you really miss?English1·1 month agoTwo come to mind. Hardware Rivals which I got for free on PSN ages ago. The other is Mass Effect 3 multiplayer. I think I was in top 100 N7 rank percentile at one point. I’ve never been good at a multiplayer game since.

happysplinter@lemmy.worldto Games@sh.itjust.works•With cheat/game codes mostly gone, what do people use instead for their single-player games (that don't involve microtransactions)?English9·3 months agoI miss them too. I would never use a game genie these days, but one of the coolest things I did was with Super Mario Bros. I accidentally put an X instead of a Z at the end of a code that was supposed to make Mario always stay big, but it ended up making Mario always stay small, even with mushrooms or fireballs. My sister and I were elated!
I would love a link to this story

This is a really good idea! Thank you!!
I do this, but I swear I spend so much on potting soil, and containers (though now that I have enough that cost is taken care of) that I’m not sure it’s saving me anything. I’d love to plant into the ground but I’ve got hard soil so I’d have to rent a tiller and amend the soil for ages, which is also an additional cost. Still planning on planting tons of potatoes, various tomatoes, and an herb garden this spring. It’s an enjoyable hobby, but it is just that; a hobby. Those tend to be expensive, at least the ones I choose.
