As far as I know, browsers will only do Widevine L3. Meaning you won’t get resolutions past 720p or maybe 1080p (depending on service). That’s probably fine a small screen like the deck. Less fine for a 4k TV.

One question I have about the cube is will it be capable of doing full DRM streaming services like Netflix? Most living room systems have that, but doing it on an open linux system somehow would be novel.

I had reasons for switching to using my dual boot desktop for Linux 95% of the time. Windows 11 became too annoying and bloated for me to want to deal with, and I found Proton could adequately run the games I play (including some old or foreign ones Windows struggles with).

I continue to use my Xbox because it’s unladen with Windows’ recent bullshit, and as a limited machine, it gives me less security concerns about trying games with connections to Russia, China, and Israel.

An Xbox running full Windows is one I would wecome existing but would never buy. I’d just be thankful all their games were PC compatible and use my Linux PC and streaming devices running Steam Link or Moonlight or even xCloud (until that service inevitably enshittifies).

The U.S. has a very small industrial capacity for manufacturing tabletop games — especially board games.

There’s currently not enough industrial capacity in the US to manufacture card games. Simple as that. Trying to do it would likely end up still being more expensive than the tariffs, and probably delay your product.

EU is also the second largest economy after the US in the world. Vacating the region would cost way more than compliance.

Nokia switched to Windows Phone in 2011, just before the N9 came out. They weren’t bought by MS until 2014.

And yes, I know about Symbian. Meego was their intended replacement for it.

I had a similarly high opinion on Meego’s future at Nokia and then they suddenly went all-in on Windows Phone.

I also had a somewhat high opinion of Windows Phone before MS killed it.

No one wants to maintain an OS for any less than like 25% of the market — which pretty much only leaves room for Abdroid and iOS… and KaiOS I guess, though I don’t know how much effort the put into maintaining that. webOS and Tizen (resting place of Meego) are now pretty much only in TVs.

The below suggestions are not RPGs, but I think fit your request.

It’s a survival game, but Conan Exiles ticks a lot of those boxes once you get a bit geared (which doesn’t take super long), and it can be played single player. Just have to be okay with some janky experiences.

I will also note that you are a girl in Hades 2.

Sifu is another one you might enjoy, though bosses certainly are a challenge.

Bayonetta is probably the most pure example of a horde-fighting action game with a sexy female witch protagonist. Lollipop Chainsaw is there too, for more of an airhead protagonist. Darksiders 3 could fit the bill as well.

I so wish we didn’t design phones such that we need to then also put extra material friction and padding on them. It’s intentionally bad engineering in order to cater to a feeling of luxury in fragility.

Colorblind person here. If we’re talking about limited visibility differentiation of front and back, the color of light is way less noticeable than whether we’re looking at headlights or not (based on intensity). There would be no issue telling whether we’re looking at a front brake light or a back brake light so long as the front brake light has headlights around it.
