I never particularly cared for the Unity desktop. The first few times I tried it, there were hardware incompatibilities, slow performance, and crashing. Gnome3 is a complicated mess. I prefer to keep it simple. XFCE is fine for me.
I am kind, and try to do no harm. I bicycle daily, and tinker on all kinds of projects. INFP

I would like to see more concrete actions limiting corporate price-gouging, and not just words. Corporations aren’t going to do anything just because the president says “stop doing it”.
Trump blatantly incites his followers into violence, and directs them toward specific targets. That is outside of the legal bounds of “freedom of speech”.
Maybe it’s because everyone is struggling with high costs of housing, food, and healthcare, among other things, while wages have remained flat and stagnant for decades.
I must admit, I don’t get why Biden would go so wholeheartedly pro Israel here. I get that the US has been allies with Israel for decades, and we would probably continue that. But his support goes further, and gets out of balance in terms of public perception of Israel (which does have broad public support), and a clear genocide of Palestinians in Gaza which also has broad public recognition. He probably would have been better to try to thread the needle between the two.
What could possibly go wrong?
I believe that Firefox has a mechanism where millions of users all have the same fingerprint, which makes the whole concept of browser fingerprinting useless.
Evidently, section3 of the 14th amendment doesn’t explicitly apply to US Presidents. It explicitly applies to any officers and military under the US government. I suppose legal types have to be quite specific in the basis for a ruling, if “any officers” doesn’t include the Presidency. Stepping back, it doesn’t make much sense that a President who incites an insurrection would NOT apply, but that’s how it was written back then.
Nazi racist defends Elon Musk anti-semitic remarks. No surprises.
Sure seems to me that the California Utilities Commission is serving the big utility corporations at the expense of people wanting rooftop solar, and at the expense of our renewable energy future. Solar is cutting into their profits.
I support the squad, and feel that they are the only ones in Congress that are even close to representing me. Powerful AIPAC and corporate billionaire money doesn’t like them, and will use their money to silence anyone who challenges their power.
I am so tired of Biden and Trump’s bratty entitled children. All of them are detestable.
Article says the most likely reason is that Xwitter started charging for API access.
Somewhere along the line, Whoopi became a Hillary Clinton clone.
Hard to believe Tumblr lasted this long even. They killed like 3/4 of their content (and audience) when they decided to not have any porn like 4 years ago. Everybody left. An early example of enshitification.
But the MAGA House Republicans DO want a Government shutdown. We must face that basic fact. They are anti-government, so a government shutdown is exactly what they want. We must find a way to make a shutdown cost them something which they find important, or they will never try to work out a solution.
Hillary is toxic to the brand. The Democrats would be wise to keep her at arms distance.
I steam milk for latte’s quite a bit. Tip carafe so wand tip is at the side just under the surface of the milk, with the stem against the spout. Engage steam just enough to you hear a tearing sound. Gradually lower the carafe to maintain the tearing sound for 17 seconds,(the sound changes) then immerse the tip until the carafe is getting too hot to touch. Then a tap on the counter, and a couple swirls to break up bigger bubbles.
Shame on any Democrats who joined the Repubs for this injustice. She speaks the truth against massive pressure from AIPAC. It’s a McCarthy atmosphere where anyone who dares speak a balanced perspective on Israel and Palestine gets crushed.
File this under “shooting yourself in the foot”.
