That’s a defeatist additute. You can be a realist withotu being a defeatist. There’s always hope. I probably have as little faith in electoral politics as you do, but forming real relationships with real neighbors we can actually create the world our politicians would never support.
and yet nearly half of American union workers vote Republican. Usually because they are more concerned about “conservatives” two bread-butter issues, abortion or gun rights.
I don’t think so. In Michigan, for example, seven parties have auotmatic ballot access for the general election. Often people will say the would prefer one of the so-called third party candidates, but they just cant’ vote for them this year because the greater of two evils is so incredibly evil but next year will be different.
This attitude is why Americans have two shitty right-wing parties
prefer the term fedizens.
Now that “everyone” works from home, a lot of companies figure it cost a lot less to hire Indians to do that than Americans.
That’s often how it works. Duplicate middle management particularly is usually less needed after a merger.
that’s…more words, and more thought, it’s only the 4th of July because it’s a holiday preceding July 5th and following July third.
yes…why would that be unexpected, particularly on our free and federated network?
HURD is the default GNU kernel. From what I here there are also GNU systems running on BSD’d stuff, and I suspect they’re are many GNU systems running with Kernels users have created themes, whether for very specific use cases or just for fun. I recall following someone’s blog an Diaspora* about the latter a year ago until she got bored with it.
I think that would not change the opinion much among the existing desktop userbase. That being said the younger generations are not by nature desktop users the way Gen-xers and millennials were. I think getting GNU/Linux as the default desktop for educational settings I think will have. Thankfully there is some traction being made on this front, particularly in places like France, Brazil & Argentina. Then again I guess it’s not an either or, as having more vendors with preloaded Educational focused distributions & support would make such adoption more likely to successfully launch in such settings.
there is certainly too much of this these days. I can only speak for myself but I try to live my interaction with others in a more libertarian manner, while trying to hold high moral standards for myself, but I fail regularly. I particularly struggle with attempting to balance what I believe my religion teaches regarding raising my family with the faith, while still respecting their rights and autonomy as individuals.
I’m interested too. All of my Indian colleagues have one, but while I am in favor cricket converafe and the few English language Indian movies I’ve seen I’m not overly interested in Indian content, so I’m not clear what rise is out there.
by eliminating government which, I suspect, will also eliminate wealth.
I’m a leftist and I disagree. Reality is politically neutral. I happen to believe unregulated a Freed market would result in a leftist market but we can’t know that for sure until such time the revolution comes.
except of course no government can regulate a Freed market.
If we truly Freed the market of government controls the workers could ownership of the fruits of their labor and the laws of supply and demand would regulate the market naturally
I know this isn’t the question you asked, but have you tried playing Minetest game?
How does it make no sense? I read 2/14 as “February 14th”. How do you read 14/2?
nope
