8·1 month agoI mean, Russia was an imperialist and settler-colonial country back then, and they still became the USSR. We’re talking about right after the First World War, which radicalized many workers even in imperialist nations.
The failure of the German Revolution and its consequences have been a disaster for the human race.
I heard that their communist party is doing a good job there, one of their members is active here. What is their role in the general strike?

How strong and organized is the communist movement there?

My mom no-joke says that she is scared of the “Venezuelan gangs” that she reads and hears about all the time on the news. She says that she even gets scared whenever she hears a noise at night because of this. I even try to tell her that the media is trying to get her scared by blasting this stuff and that undocumented immigrants actually commit less crimes on average. Whatever I say, it all goes over her head.
The media has successfully tricked her into being scared of the evil scary brown people. It’s both very funny and very sad at the same time.

If this causes an anti-imperialist coup in a country with a coast, it would probably be a game changer.
I have a very, very, very strong feeling that the complaints about how Gen Alpha is “ruined by screens, entitlement, permissive parenting” is nothing but nonsense that is not very different at all from how previous generations were complained about. They even complained about “today’s youth” in ancient Greece, Egypt, and Sumer!
It’s an outdated mindset that I sadly see all around me, even among many progressives.
They have media. They are indeed real, unfortunately. They do seem to take the side of liberals and imperialists a lot though.
