Clay_pidgin@sh.itjust.worksto It's Foss News@sh.itjust.works•Losing Ground to Cursor and Others? VS Code Wants to Be an AI-First IDEEnglish4·12 hours agoPerhaps VSCodium. If not I bet there’s a fork without AI.
There’s always Notepad++ or VIM, too.
Edit: N++ isn’t FOSS. It is, however, excellent.
Sorry for the necropost, but I have a similar electric griddle and I can’t keep it looking this nice. The oil or butter burns onto it in the pattern of the heating elements, and no amount of scrubbing has worked. I haven’t tried a paint scraper but that’s my next step.
Any tips?

Actually I don’t see an updated version in the Play store.
and of course I can’t find another post doing it. FML.
Clay_pidgin@sh.itjust.worksto Technology@lemmy.zip•Microsoft is putting AI actions into the Windows File ExplorerEnglish2·20 hours agoLuckily I’m upstream on Debian. At least for now.
I’m having fun, but maybe there are actually uses for local LLM like this. Summarizing a file, or maybe generating tags?
The beige is a relaxing color. Not everything needs to be eye-catching!

Clay_pidgin@sh.itjust.worksto The Agora@sh.itjust.works•Censorship on feddit.orgEnglish67·24 hours agoThe way I read it, they are allowing discussion of both the policy and Israel in general while following the law in Germany.
I don’t read modlogs and I mostly ignore people complaining about mods, so I couldn’t say if their bans are heavy handed.

They charge on the panels at home and it lasts the weekend at the cabin.
Here’s the link to the Grand Final performances. I can’t even see the playlist from the U.S.
My personal favorites were Albania and Latvia.
Spain gave a great performance but got no love.
Sweden was an early favorite and came in very highly.
Austria obviously did well. I really like his duet with the last Austrian Winner Conchita Wurst.
Clay_pidgin@sh.itjust.worksto Eurovision Song Contest@lemmy.world•Networks demand probe after Israel came secondEnglish6·1 day agoFor moral reasons, yes.
In terms of song quality and performance it was fine. Not especially good. It definitely shouldn’t have left sided over Poland, Denmark, and Spain.
Here from !c/all. This is hysterical!
I’ve also taken note of the cautionary tale. Won’t happen to me, no sirree.
Clay_pidgin@sh.itjust.worksto Europe@lemm.ee•Eurovision: Spanish PM Pedro Sánchez calls for Israel to be bannedEnglish3·23 hours agoIn theory, there’s no mechanism in the rules to ban a country just because they suck. Russia was banned for the same reason Georgia was for a while (and may be again) - the national broadcaster must be free and independent from government control.
-
Netanyahu’s government has been trying to control or kill KAN, their public broadcaster, for allowing content critical of the government. Last year the government seems to have pressured KAN to change the song. It’s a mixed result there. Mostly independent but under a lot of pressure?
-
There is a moral imperative not to normalize the Israeli government’s behavior in Gaza and w.r.t. Palestinians in general. If enough countries threaten to boycott, the EBU would have to give in. They aren’t worried about ( I think it was) Jordan boycotting the contrst because of Israel, but if Germany and Spain back out that might be another story.

Imagine people 4,000 years after your death still talking about how you scammed your customers. Ea-Nāsir is a legend in the historical customer service community.
Interesting context! Maybe broadcasters and artists should be required to disclose ad spend?
