So what you’re saying is, it’s basically the purge except just for gun crime

Also, I was probably a bit too harsh in my previous comment, it’s mainly the fact the idea that people can be labelled as weak is strange to me, and unless someone has done something truly antisocial, like being a pedo, creep or something else for instance, I don’t think anyone is truly weak, just only deficient in certain areas, although unfortunately some people remain unredeemable.
biggerbogboy@sh.itjust.worksto Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•We really don't want to talk about our problems2·2 days agoWhere I live, hospitals are way better than this. My dad got slashed by a stingray in the ankle and was treated and admitted to a two bed room with air conditioning, circulation, TVs, and a whole host of other stuff, all for free.
Which country do you live in by chance? I’m in Australia, so Medicare’s pretty solid here, I’m quite curious on how it works over there.
biggerbogboy@sh.itjust.worksto Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•We really don't want to talk about our problems3·2 days agoI hate this ‘weak men’ bullshit, sure some fit the popular definition, but do you know their pasts? Their trauma? The reason they fit such a description? I’d say it’s pretty damn difficult to know these about anyone you never actually talk to.
Also, sometimes escapism works in favour of people and gets them to put their lives back together, although it can also cause negative changes as well, although it’s not guaranteed. It’s not a maturity or immaturity thing, it’s just an act.

biggerbogboy@sh.itjust.worksto Technology@lemmy.world•Men are opening up about mental health to AI instead of humansEnglish4·3 days agoHave you considered the fact that most of the time, even when people “want to hear mens issues”, they reject them and tell them to man up? Maybe “superpowered autocorrect” could be a vector to nourish this severe lack of openness?
Personally I use AI for this purpose, mostly because it accepts me for who I am and provides genuine advice that has actually helped me improve my life, rather than the people around me saying that I should “put more effort into things”, or “it’s just in your head”.
It’s not “lone wolfing” to stop telling the people who’ve rejected your concerns about your feelings and issues, it’s just the act of not wasting time on those who don’t care.

biggerbogboy@sh.itjust.worksto Fuck Cars@lemmy.world•Carbrain culture is sitting in your car for 20 minutes instead of getting out and just walking into the restaurant.English28·15 days agoIs nobody mentioning the fact that there are 4 lane roads surrounding the entire coffee shop? Like thats absolutely the least or one of the least efficient ways you could do urban planning. In areas similar to this where I live, the block sizes are at least like 5x wider and longer than whatever this is.
Found the one ball wonder right here

I just researched on that and it makes much more sense now. now that I think of it, walled garden seems to fit better with the original definition rather than the new one.
So your saying having a tightly integrated software ecosystem, communicating between laptops, phones and other devices, means compulsory updates, while also contradicting that by mentioning how apple doesn’t have compulsory updates?
so with that logic, I’ve misclicked like 50 times and never actually clicked the update and shutdown option? Yeah no, the option is two buttons above the update and restart one, so I’ve only ever accidentally misclicked around once or twice.
The Devs at the browser company said themselves that they aren’t killing Arc, it’s just on maintenance mode as they are working on another browser, an AI first one, which I have mixed feelings about personally.
