This will make people become sexists and rapists in the same way that gay porn makes people gay and violent murder games make people violent murderers. Of course, there are certain groups of society that need to be protected from media like this, but that’s hardly a new concept.

Imagine a tool that gives you a language in which you can describe the hardware resources you want from a cloud provider. Say you want multiple different classes of servers with different sets of firewall rules. Something like Terraform allows you to put that into a text-based form, make changes to it, re-run the tool and expect resources to be created, changed and destroyed to match what you wrote down.

Mostly just the part where you claim that “modern” pizza was invented in the US. Not a different food, not a variation with its own history - just straight up “modern” pizza. That’s a very sad and mildly insulting way to describe a global hit with Italian roots. Mass production alone doesn’t give any country the right to claim to have invented a food.

I can understand the frustration of tourists when they expect something different from the authentic version of a dish, even if that’s pretty unlikely with a dish that has so many different styles all over the world, but you make it sound like pizza, as a whole, is a US invention and Italy serves some antiquated precursor… Also, Italy serves many different kinds of pizza. No one should feel forced to go to the most traditional restaurant in Naples and order a pizza margherita, even though most people will probably like it.

There are plenty of Italian-American foods I enjoy and I usually like both versions. New York style pizza is delicious, as is Neapolitan Pizza Margherita. It’s fine to have your preferences, but it annoys me when people mistakenly claim the derivation as the original invention.

English and French are on opposite ends of the spectrum of how predictable the pronunciation of a word is, based on the spelling. French may have a ton of extra letters, but at least it’s consistent. The english language has so many exceptions to its rules that you effectively need to learn to pronounce almost every single word separately.

Wenn es nach PETA ginge sollten lieber alle Haustiere eingeschläfert werden. Tierheime lehnen die auch ab. Wie du in einem der links nachlesen kannst, kann der Weg von der (mehr oder weniger freiwilligen) Abgabe durch den Besitzer bis zum Einschläfern auch weniger als ein Tag vergehen. Das geht weit über kranke, alte oder leidende Tiere hinaus und wurde oft genug von der Öffentlichkeit und von anderen Tierschützern kritisiert.

Finde ich nicht. Ich hab PETA als einzigen Eintrag aus der Liste ganz klar hervorgehoben. Außerdem ist das bereits eine Auswahl vom OP um zu zeigen was das für eine dämliche Aktion der CDU ist. Also ist es wohl vollkommen angebracht die PETA als schlechtes Beispiel in einem Kommentar zu kritisieren. Der Aufruf die finanziell zu unterstützen kommt auch vom OP und hat eher indirekt was mit der eigentlichen Nachricht zu tun.

Den Versuch meinen Kommentar, als Relativierung der Aussage darzustellen, finde ich ziemlich weit hergeholt.

Da muss man nicht viel erfinden. Die schiere Menge an Tieren die PETA einschläfert ist genau so öffentlich einsehbar, wie die Fälle in denen gesunde Tiere kurzerhand abgemurkst werden. Die Medienkampagnen sind ziemlich grenzwertig und nutzen so ziemlich jeden unangebrachten Vergleich zu einer Randgruppe den man sich vorstellen kann, wenn sie nicht einfach komplett das Ziel verfehlen, wie mit ihrer Hetzwerbung gegen Pokémon. Man braucht eigentlich gar kein Geld in eine Anti-PETA Gruppe stecken wenn die von sich aus schon regelmäßig streit mit allen anderen Tierschutzorganisationen anzetteln und dafür kritisiert werden.

Der Punkt ist ziemlich unabhängig von einer Spendenempfehlung für PETA.

Die Liste von Kontroversen um PETA ist so ellenlang, ich würde mir den Kommentar mit der Spendenempfehlung noch mal überlegen.
