They absolutely will. Those minerals are valuable.
They did the same with Star Trek: Enterprise. It finally picked up momentum in the fourth season when Manny Coto took over as show runner, then they killed it.
We could do so much more, but would we? USAID was just shuttered. There’s every chance that money would go into the military industrial complex or something equally unpleasant.
Not defending billionaires as a concept (they shouldn’t exist, and most aren’t as philanthropic as Bill), but I will acknowledge he’s doing a lot of good with his money.
Credit where credit is due, Bill Gates has been putting his money where his mouth is for decades now.
Having borrowed a quest 3 last week I’ve almost pulled trigger on buying one.
The only thing holding me back is… it’s Meta.
I’m not wishing, I’m voting. Writing submissions and advocating for a fairer system.
We can. We’ve just chosen to spend billions on tax cuts that (as always) disproportionately help the upper echelons of wealth in this country.
We could easily fund all of this by simply having a fair tax system. We choose not to.
Our contribution has mostly been assisting in military training, humanitarian aid and giving them some ageing equipment. Last I checked our per capita contribution to Ukraine was lower than even Russian allies like China. We can and should do more.
I agree we should be supporting the Palestinians, but these two stances aren’t mutually exclusive.
We have more than enough to look after our own people AND support democracies fighting for their freedom.
Defending a democracy being invaded by their autocratic neighbour is something I fully support. We should be doing everything in our (limited) power to help.

“He’s got sharp pointed teeth… He can leap about… LOOK AT THE BONES!”
Nah, at some point the simulation we live in is going to round down to save computing power.
We declared war on Germany, and the German state that was involved in that conflict no longer exists.
It might be worth a shot trying to get Germany to pay for it, but regardless, we just need to muck in and get it done.
The costs are only 1/2 of a flag referendum. Let’s get on it!
The costs of an oil spill isn’t just financial…
Gunning for those Men’s Rights votes.
David Seymour - the man who’ll defend a neo-nazi’s right to free speech one week, and gag doctors from speaking on health issues the next.
Also they never sold it in many countries.
Not only do they cost more, the greater surface area means your cold drink warms up faster.
Neat.
I bought a Tesla years ago before Elon completely removed the mask.
No way I’d buy one now, but I also don’t want to sell it early and lose a tonne of money.
The Tesla board should intervene and remove him, but they won’t because he’s stacked it with yes men like his brother.
Hotmail ran on FreeBSD when Microsoft acquired the company in 1997. They started the transition a few years later and it was entirely hosted on Windows by 2005.
