I use them with the activities package. It’s handy to be able to open a tab with a given arrangement of windows with specific files open in them.

Not really. I’ve never really gotten the hang of sleeping in. I wake up at the same time weekday or weekend, only difference is I might read in bed for a bit before actually getting up if I have nothing to do that morning.
Trent@lemmy.mlto Fediverse memes@feddit.uk•Just a quick thanks to all the Instance admins out there as we await yet another Reddit wave 💪English153·1 month agoWhat’d they do this time?
I use piper TTS. Probably not as good as the fancy AI APIs, but it’s all local and runs from command line and is good enough for my purposes. YMMV.
Trent@lemmy.mlto Privacy@lemmy.ml•Are ad blockers the new scapegoat for website failures?English8·2 months agoYeah, they’ve been doing this sort of thing for quite a while.
Nope.
I always liked the bot swarm.
Trent@lemmy.mlto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Morning people, how do you manage to wake up early like 5 am as a computer person?English9·2 months agoGo to bed reasonably early. The thing to watch/code/play will be there tomorrow. If you want to go out at night, do it on weekends. As for waking up, I’m used to it now (and my alarm clock app makes me solve a math problem to shut up :)) but long ago when I had trouble waking up, I’d put the alarm clock on a table on the other side of the room so I’d have to get up and walk over to shut it off. By the time that was done, blood is flowing and I’m awake.
A retro gaming podcast is actually probably more my style than the other two podcasts listed. So, have another subscriber…
Thanks for asking something I’d thought of asking but never gotten around to. Also, what’s your podcast OP?
Trent@lemmy.mlto Privacy@lemmy.ml•Looking for a way to save a whole site in its entirety and keeping its functions on androidEnglish4·3 months agoKiwix isn’t a web browser exactly and doesn’t download web pages the way your browser saves them. It uses a specialized file format, and it can be used to back up an entire site. For instance the kiwix library has an offline copy of wikipedia (no images), but it weighs in at more than 100GB last I looked.
Trent@lemmy.mlto Linux Questions@lemmy.zip•Is there anything that could help me memorise the argument order of the `ln` command?English3·3 months agoI’ve been using linux for a long time and I still mix it up. I just check tldr before typing the command.
Trent@lemmy.mlto Emacs@lemmy.ml•I am hunting all around - I want to change a color but I need to know the "face" that needs changingEnglish1·3 months agoBah, I misread stuff. Long day. I just tested in my terminal and
(set-face-foreground 'minibuffer-prompt "cyan")
changed the save-file prompt messages.

(set-face-attribute 'default nil :foreground “yellow”)
Trent@lemmy.mlto Emacs@lemmy.ml•I am hunting all around - I want to change a color but I need to know the "face" that needs changingEnglish2·3 months agoI asked on #emacs and the consensus (including me) was that it’s probably the default face, though I’m not sure why you had problems changing it.
More Discworld books and the entire Culture series by Banks.
