  • Aqara (specially older devices) are known for being temperamental and not playing well with other hubs/devices. If you have each manufacturer on its own hub, make sure they are using separate channels. If everything else fails, 2.4GHz is also used for Bluetooth, microwaves and other, maybe your location has noise on that band,

Z-Wave is using lower bands (800-900mhz depending on location) and certifying the devices better for software compatibility. It’s a fine solution as if it works for you, any limitations are basically theoretical (like the 200 devices).

  • One more opinion: 3km is definitely too far for groceries, that’s driving distance. It’s half an hour walking each way, the return loaded with bags? Forget about it.

I live on the edge of a small-ish town and it takes me 15 min to the nearest supermarket, and that’s quite a lot, everyone on this streets bikes there, in about 5 min. From there towards the center you don’t need to walk more than 5 min to get groceries.

I’d say having to walk more than a 10 minutes for groceries already affects the apartment value.

  • Tooth brushes are under one euro. Tooth paste is around one euro. Both last like a a couple of months. Floss and inter-dental brushes are a couple of euros.

Not everything is implants and high tech drills, the consumer products to take care of your teeth are cheap as fuck. Unless you volunteer to buy the toothbrush with leds, Bluetooth and timer, but that’s a tech toy, not a dental product.

  • I think it’s a conspiracy theory. The vast majority of people use manual brushes. Of those who use electric ones, a majority use dumb ones. Of those who use smart ones, some people don’t use the app. Or don’t bother opening the app every time they brush. Those who register probably don’t provide insurance info. The data they collect is basically useless for individual cases, and definitely useless on a bigger scale.

My take is that it’s a gimmick to help sell you more expensive brushes when you are browsing and comparing them.
