Therapy is not some magical fix. It usually involves learning how to cope healthily and to tell the people who are close to you what you need to be more comfortable in stressful situations.
Any form of gender policing is oppressive and should be ignored. Your therapist is obviously wrong and should not be taken seriously. If you like to behave and talk like most men do then that’s cool, but it should be your own choice and not something your therapist tells you to do. I don’t think the way people call breasts is gendered that way but who knows.
I sometimes notice that I feel like I need to behave more ‘manly’ to convince others that I’m actually trans but rationally I think that that’s silly. I try to just accept the way I am because I don’t want to conform to this enforced gendered society.
Serbian protests had the support of most of the general population. The students faced a lot of state violence as well, but this only made their case stronger and caused more people to join. Protests like these for the most part are a numbers game. The more people join in the safer it is. The US population has been pacified and I see the only way to improve conditions is to agitate and depacify.
So you’re right that the condition in the US are different and that a different approach might be needed, but sitting by and doing nothing will for sure not help. I’m really tired of people on lemmy throwing their hands in the air while less fortunate people are being harmed by your government’s actions. It pains me to see how little people actually care if it turns out they need to actually make sacrifices to change anything.
Are you trans? Or do you just accept your government abusing trans people because ‘people voted for it’. Stop acting like voting is all you can do to protect minority groups.
Serbian students have been occupying most university faculties for months to organise and facilitate the protests. You don’t get your leaders to step down by complaining on the internet.
Most social media? Instagram, youtube, tumblr, bluesky. And I bet there’s tons of forums by and for women.
There’s many internet spaces that are better than lemmy regarding misogyny, any platform that does not have a strong majority of cis men is probably better than lemmy.
I was on trollx and it was a nice community. A community with a name derived from two X chromosomes will never be fully trans inclusive though.
The is why dull_mens_club gives me really bad vibes. Any similar community aimed at women would be harassed into oblivion.
It’s become a habit for many people. Cooking is a really difficult habit to (re)learn. It’s possible though and good meal prep is very convenient on long days at work.
Lol what does that have to do with the definition of liberalism
That’s a very US centric view and not even correct there.
I’ve frequently seen misogynistic posts or comments removed only after 1 or 2 days which is basically useless on a platform where posts get most of their views and interactions in 1 day.
Tbh I’m happy with the new onehundredninetysix com, I’d prefer if these mods and anyone that supports their decisions move to .world
I never really liked this comic or the concept of sealioning because in this comic the ‘annoying’ entity is someone who is being outcasted based on their identity. In a comparison between bigots and marginalised groups, a marginalised group has more in common with the sea lion than the humans, and the bigots have more in common with the humans.
The comic is more logically read as bigots that are annoyed that the minority they’re discriminating against is defending their rights to exist.
I think it’s good for 196 to leave because at least to me it’s clear that your values don’t fully align with this instance and if you leave then the trans community posts don’t get drowned out anymore by 196 posts. Hopefully 196 leaving will boost the trans meme communities here a bit more (and maybe there’ll be more interest in a new meme/generalposting community).
Please, you did paint ada in a bad way and if that was truly unintentional then you should edit that comment and remove the unfounded accusations. I very much agree with ada’s moderating actions to make sure blahaj.zone is a safe space for trans people that don’t wish to constantly battle with transphobic or misogynistic dog whistles.
Weren’t .world admins also banning references to jury nullification and jokes about Luigi Mangioni killing more CEO’s?
NB people can identify as trans. Usually NB people who go through any type of medical transition identify as trans. It’s quite common.
