  • I say apparently because I didn’t personally know anyone who went through that one.

    👋

They tried that shit on me my first assessment, the whole “lift hasn’t been working properly”. I explained that my pain was too much to go up 2 flights of stairs, and eventually they got it “fixed”.

They denied me my benefits anyway, it took about 2.5 years, a load of appeals, and a tribunal, the first time before I got what I was entitled to.

They’ve denied me every re-assessment since, too, which they’ve given me every 2 years on average, despite my conditions being either from birth or chronic and progressive, and me winning every appeal and tribunal they’ve put me through, and being in receipt of the highest rates for over a decade now. I’m actually waiting for another re-assessment as I type since my benefit expired again.

Their goal is for us to die, either from our conditions while we wait, or by suicide after being denied or pushed too far by their process (or from the trauma and the feelings of being a useless burden they cause that last long after the assessment is over), either way, the more of us die, the less money they have to spend on us (never mind that disability benefits are an absolutely miniscule fraction of tax spending). So yeah, their MO is to automatically deny all claims. The fact that once appealed, over 70% of decisions are overturned goes to show just how deliberate it is.

I’ve only got this far because after that first assessment I started looking for help with the appeal because I had to get that benefit to survive, and discovered just how bad the system I’m up against is, but also that there are people out there dedicating their time to helping others get through it. I literally owe those people my life.

  • Just a point of note - the liberation by outside forces last time wasn’t done for the benefit of those being exterminated (hell, every single one of the allies had a significant part in either rejecting refugees, or actively doing oppressing and outright exterminating of their own before the war even started), but for the benefit of those countries leaders, and finances.

So there might be liberation, but it’ll only exist to enable us to return to “normalcy” which is the capitalist status quo that keeps leading to world wars (because they’re that profitable).

  • Oh, I get it, I just think it plays in to their rhetoric more than it contradicts it.

They’re grasping at any and every “he’s not a nazi” straw they can find or make up, this just gives them another one to grasp to, because they wouldn’t see or care about your intent, all they see is someone deliberately avoiding directly saying “musk is a nazi” or “what makes him a nazi is…”, which is exactly their tactic and feeds in to their cognitive dissonance.

You’re giving him the degree of separation they’re looking for, which he does not deserve.

So again, I understand what you’re trying to do, but I think that not explicitly saying “musk is a nazi because…” is counterproductive.

  • I’m not from America so have no skin in the game, and for all intents and purposes you’d look at me and see a cis dude.

as I said, I’ve already got an opinion based on where I’m from

And yet here you are, demanding emotional labour from people who very much do have skin in the game and are hurting and have better things to do than to spoon feed you information you’ve already admitted to not being open to hear.

Take this as a learning opportunity - open a search engine of your choice, and start doing your own work. The people you want to hear from have and continue to speak up (E: hell, you could even scroll maybe a page or two through my profile, as a person whose opinions you seem interested in, but not interested enough to lift a finger, and find plenty of places to get you started). You not wanting to make any effort to listen is a you problem, not a lack of available information problem.

  • this is a comment about a comic where The Purge is a reality.

I get that it’s fun to imagine, but even in an imagined purge reality…

As for toxic individualism - it’s thinking that you can get to him on your own. Each person is there for their own turn. So again - all that would end in, even in imaginary purge land is the queue getting mowed down by machine gun. For someone from .ml you seem unfamiliar with the concept of “workers of the world unite” and what it represents.

I’m also literally pointing out that serious revolutionary planning would be a much better way to actually get to him (and not only him, so actually having a long lasting impact rather than just a temporary dopamine hit before returning to the status quo), not suggesting or even implying that that’s what’s going on here lmfao
