I now have a dozen comments on Reddit in the last year, up from 3 an hour ago.

The thing about Mastodon for influencers is… you don’t even have to leave Twitter. Just post to both.
If enough people get into that habit, it makes the transition much easier for everyone.
It blows my mind that places like the transit systems that were on Twitter haven’t migrated over to their own Mastodon server. They’re not that hard to set up, and there’s so little risk when you just don’t accept public signups on your domain.
Yeah, the world is less orchestrated than this guy claims.
So you don’t know your history.
Hired clowns or magicians aren’t really a thing outside of movies, afaik.
One or two big birthday parties growing up is pretty common. Not every year. I had one for my 16th.
The policy is not currently in place. But if it were, it does specifically say a small amount and respectfully.
If you went with
You can’t morally justify chaining up a sentient, breathing creature for your own amusement.
And left it at that, it would have fallen under that policy, if it were in effect. As it is, with heavy passive aggressiveness and sarcasm, well, you’re on your own.
I think there’s a decent chance you could have made your point in a respectful way and in moderation and only gotten downvotes and words for it.
Now I know your social security number. You fool!

I just use the android “find my phone” thing. It’ll ring at max volume even if it’s on silent.
I think he should have started jailing congressmen until they agreed to make a law overturning the immunity decision.
But that can “make things worse” in the same way these pardons did. And they were extremely aware of that.
There’s no winning in this scenario. The people voted against the rule of law. It’s easy to sit on the sidelines and criticize, but what are they supposed to do about it? Perform a coup against the will of the people? It’s doing the same damn thing we were just trying to stop.
I think if the US isn’t involved at all, there’s still genocide in that region, one way or another. Maybe it takes longer.
I’d still rather we didn’t directly support it. I think it’s partly because we have too much AIPAC in our politics. I just don’t think we’re the cause.
It looked reasonable on the surface, largely because of the “factual” claims he made. But as soon as you start peeking into the publicly available numbers, it falls apart. He said 11% bullet ballots in NC. It was around 2.2%. That’s the one I verified myself.
In North Carolina, which saw 11% of votes for Trump cast as bullet votes.
NC had 5.67m presidential votes. NC had 5.54m gubernatorial votes. A difference of 128k. 128k/5.67m = 2.257%
I checked a couple other NC races as well. It doesn’t get close. Not to mention places like NYC went more red too. Do we think they cheated in NYC too? Did they cheat literally everywhere?
Of course the bullet ballot guy makes the claim that the swing states and the surrounding states are different, but they really weren’t. His numbers are just lies.
If anything, this is a distraction from something else.
I typically post about the North American league, which starts this Saturday. The professional scene is usually pretty quiet between November and January (inclusive).

The lemm.ee community effectively didn’t exist 16 days ago.
I even wrote an application 11 months ago specifically to make posts to this community.
Here’s additional context that Blaze conveniently left out.

I’d be 100% on the Lemm.ee community if it had the history the LW one does.
This has very little to do with LW, and is about the effort I’ve put into this community over the last two years compared to Blaze’s efforts that started 16 days ago and seem manipulative and malicious.
AOC’s district went more heavily towards Trump. It was everywhere, not just saying states or key districts.
My point was for people who are scared to leave Twitter. They don’t have to. They can just dip their toes in while still holding their Elon-themed blanket.
I understand that often you can’t just drop the platform where all the engagement is when your job is to promote something. However, you can still enable people who do want to make the switch.
