Americans always think they have the market cornered on everything. As if slavery and racism didn’t exist until the 18th century.
Do you have a recent example of someone who was denied an opportunity, that is afforded to everyone, based solely on their race?
Well when you scrape the top layer of reddit mold, which is comprised of the most politically and socially charged individuals, and put them in one place, this is to be expected.
So I pulled out my robe and wizard hat.
Since I can’t relate, I have trouble understanding anyone who needs to rely on anything to make it through the day. So many colleagues can’t make it through the day without their coffee. People chugging their energy drinks, drugs, etc… I can’t wrap my head around it. I don’t drink coffee, alcohol, no drug use, and little sugar intake. Don’t want to risk needing it just to get by.
How does one not feel safe on a digital platform? Even if someone physically threatens you, nothing is going to happen to you. And you can block/mute people you don’t care for.
I still use it. For that which I engage, or who I engage with, it hasn’t changed for me. Almost 100% for metal bands. Tours, album releases. We have a pretty cool metal community going. People I’ve been speaking with for many years now.
Leaving a platform you don’t like, or the reasons you don’t like it, isn’t “common sense”.
Instructions unclear. Brushed teeth with CD. My gums hurt now. Tastes like a penny.
Which is why this platform will never have a meaningful growth. But 90% of the user base is happy with that because they enjoy having their opinions validated and not challenged a.k.a. echo chamber.
It’s too convenient. Order something Sunday night, I’ll definitely have it by Tuesday afternoon if not earlier. I always wait until I have enough items I need over $50 before I place an order anyway.
She was one of only three seasons I continued to watch the garbage pile that was Discovery. But this was easily the worst I’ve gotten from her character. Not because of her acting. Her character just seemed watered down in this movie.
It’s nice he is finally able to live as himself.
I can’t imagine what would have satisfied Russia other than complete surrender. Ukraine had few other options than to fight. Uphill as their battle may have been.
Unfortunately, everyone of your quoted feedback is spot on. Lemmy got the worst of reddit’s political echo chamber combined with the “I am so smart” crowd. To make Lemmy barely tolerable, I’ve had to filter far too many words and block far too many communities. Most people aren’t going to jump through hoops to make a platform usable.
This. All of this. Thank you.
I didn’t doubt it’s still happening somewhere; just curious how wide spread it is. I read the third link. It was interesting. I wasn’t aware the Justice department spent almost 2.5 years going after lenders.
