I try to eat at least half my meals without meat, so I get a lot of recipes from vegan sites like this, but I use regular dairy products.

Maybe if I knew she was supposed to become a villain, I could have enjoyed it more. I kept expecting a hero. She’s supposed to be brilliant but keeps making really bad choices. And the juxtaposition of her background vs Tony’s and the divergent paths they took, doesn’t sit well with me.
The side characters were all fantastic. I thought the CGI was fine. It’s better at creating technology and magic, rather than biological organisms.
They should have spent more time developing the characters. The ending was so sudden and we have no reason, at this point, to expect a second season, so it becomes an incomplete story, with no character arc.

Just finished Educated, a memoir from Tara Westover.
Tara Westover was 17 the first time she set foot in a classroom. Born to survivalists in the mountains of Idaho, she prepared for the end of the world by stockpiling home-canned peaches and sleeping with her “head-for-the-hills bag”. In the summer she stewed herbs for her mother, a midwife and healer, and in the winter she salvaged in her father’s junkyard.
Her father forbade hospitals, so Tara never saw a doctor or nurse. Gashes and concussions, even burns from explosions, were all treated at home with herbalism. The family was so isolated from mainstream society that there was no one to ensure the children received an education and no one to intervene when one of Tara’s older brothers became violent.

It’s a genuinely incredible story, and absolutely enraging when you watch this mentally ill father repeatedly force his wife and children into situations that cause them grevious bodily harm, while denying them actual medical aid.
Also just finished Just Like Mother by Anne Heltzel. If you want Rosemary’s Baby, but they worship Motherhood instead of the devil, I recommend this one.
And also finished What You Can See From Here by Mariana Leky. It’s got the feel of a folklore or a fairy tale even though it’s set in modern Germany. Full of likable and quirky characters.
