I wonder if they’re going to edit the infamous “that’s a cute outfit, did your boyfriend give it to you?”
It’s outrageously tone deaf these days.

I’ve been considering getting this game because I love Remedy, but I don’t have any friends. Has anyone had much experience with the match-making portion of the game and can comment on it?

Two things can be true at once. Telling an American they aren’t allowed to criticize any government in existence because their own is also bad is asinine.

Here’s an interactive map which shows the scale of the looting:
Here’s an article that goes into the specifics a bit more:
https://grist.org/politics/public-land-sale-republican-senate-bill-mike-lee-trump/
They’re selling public land (trying to, anyway) to the highest bidder, with no rules about how the land will be used. Expect private golf courses, Airbnbs, luxury summer homes, etc.

I’m willing to stand in front of a bulldozer if it comes down to that.
The thing in Florida is encouraging, although that was at the State level rather than Federal. I’m sure there are organizations who are going to oppose this… if this happens it will be irreversible and will effectively ruin western states, and put a huge dent in local economies. This will also hurt the people who don’t hike. People come to the western US from all over the world to use our public land.

It’s so sad! I can’t stop crying about it. Hiking is my entire life. I live in Washington and looked at an interactive map of the land they’re trying to sell. All of my favorite spots are in danger.
If you look at the map you’ll see how stupid it is… they’re cutting everything into tiny pieces so that even the land they don’t sell will lose it’s recreational value. The PCT will likely be completely ruined because of this. The way they’re cutting it up… there’s no logic to it. They’re doing this to hurt us.

Yup. And no one is talking about the theft of 250 million acres of public land, either. Netanyahu and Trump are both bombing Iran for political reasons and blaming it on nukes that probably don’t exist.
It’s extremely unlikely that social security will still exist by the time we’re old enough to retire, so retirement will be yet another thing reserved for the rich.
Unless you live in a civilized country (not the US) in which case enjoy your retirement you lucky bastard.

Why isn’t anyone talking about this?! This ruins the entire west coast. Even the land that isn’t being sold is ruined because tiny squares all around it are being sold. No more long hikes. They’re selling a chunk of Mt Hood, for fucks sake. They’re selling a 12% of a fucking volcano? The evil fucking psychopaths.

It’s absolutely wild that the ability to cry when you need to is considered to be a trait exclusive to women. It’s absolutely essential for a healthy mind, and I’ve gotten quite good at it despite my useless Y chromosome.

Apparently 16 million of that is for road repair to fix the roads that aren’t rated for 70 ton tanks. What a stupid fucking waste of money.
Same. This includes all of my hobbies and interests, and even the food I like. It’s infuriating to realize that the abusers from your childhood had more say in who you are than you did.

I’m so sorry, that sounds awful. I did get lucky in the sense that I had one good enough parent, which is honestly probably while I’m still alive and doing alright. I still talk to my Mom on a weekly basis. She had a lot of unwinding to do after her divorce. It’s tricky to get an abusive narcissist out of your head. They have a way of living there.
I hope you’re doing better! Your perseverance is admirable as hell.
Sometimes getting through adversity and hardship can make us into better, tougher, and more empathetic adults than we would’ve been if our childhoods had been easier. I hope that’s the case for you.

If you want something durable it’s best to go with two piece poles rather than three pieces. When poles bend or break it’s always on the bottom piece because it’s the thinnest.
Unfortunately two piece poles can be hard to find. I’ve been considering getting some MSR poles because it’s a reputable brand and they have a two piece option. I just wish they offered a model with cork handles because I’ve gotten used to cork and will miss it.

These are intended for snowshoeing, which makes sense considering the only time I’ve bent a pole it was while snowshoeing. But of course they can be used anywhere and come with regular mud baskets. If you’re looking for maximum durability, these are a good option.

Absolutely! Even something janky like dirt roads can be a helpful barrier to keep crowding down and nature preserved. I live in WA and the road to the famous Hoh rainforest recently washed out and it’s actually a blessing. It’ll take a few years to repair, giving the Hoh a much needed break.
