Looks like a four post bed, with the hat sitting on the closest post to the camera, mostly hidden by her body
They are exactly comparable situations; these are emergency responses for National Guard Soldiers, and are treated the same. You need a massive push immediately. Regardless of whether it’s a protest or a hurricane, you the citizen want a response fast. In this case SOME citizens and leadership still want a response, whether or not you do. And in their case, yes… it’s an equal emergency in their eye, even if that’s all propaganda or bad faith from your or our POV.
I am not arguing whether they should or shouldn’t be there because XYZ different tier of leadership wants A, B, or C to happen. I am strictly stating that logistically, this is normal. It was normal for J6, it’s normal for any other operation like this. This would be abnormal if it were a long standing mission, like the border security missions.
As much as I’d like to make this a sticking point about his failure to plan, this always happens at the start of a CONUS mobilization; see the J6 response as an example. Even with natural disasters Soldiers are sleeping out of their office buildings until it becomes long term and they’re rehoused. I wouldn’t exactly say it’s ‘piss poor planning’, just that Soldiers are capable and can sleep on the floor for a few days, as a small cost to ensure that you get a rapid response.
Do you want to wait for hurricane relief until after the Ramada has vacancies? When they’re packed, too? Or for unrest support?
Lots of ‘Citizen Soldiers’ taken from their full time careers and family, at the (yuge) expense of tax payers, for no reason.
Why’s he actively picking fights here, and stirring the pot? To further excite the populous to open ‘rebellion’, and to ‘justify’ martial law.
Once he’s POTUS For Life, and has declared himself King, his lands will be nationalized and become tax payer funded.
Not always, he chickens out when the cost of doing something is less more* (edit: can’t believe I missed that one) than the gain. For this? Invoking total control of the US to crush dissent and his political opponents, and to push his agenda and further strip the US to the bone? Very likely worth it.
You’d be surprised, also regarding federalization for immigration enforcement and protest control. Who’s to say that the courts don’t weigh in on the side of CA and limit the use of CA-NG by the POTUS, and then he brings in a neighbor state’s NG instead? These are wild times, they even activated the Marines… on top of NG. This is crazy stuff.
How about we ask ‘Americans that are in the National Guard’, too.
Here’s another one, I didn’t have a watch and only had a flip phone back in college, too. I got pretty good at estimating the time based on shadows thrown by poles or trees and north. I joked (and won one bet, at least) that I could tell the time to within a 10 minutes increments. I mean, that’s not super challenging, now that I think about it again, due to the hourly schedule you’re already on at college. But, hey, it’s one of those goofy and ridiculous things you joke with your friends about.
I used to do something similar on my trips back from college, calculate my ETA based on the mile markers and my speed. I was damn near dead on, too!
