It would hurt them if people kept using it but stopped talking about it. The cost of running the things far outweighs the gains of any of their subscriptions, and the only thing keeping the bubble afloat right now is hype.

JackRiddle@sh.itjust.worksto Programming@programming.dev•The Hippocratic License 3.0: An Ethical License for Open Source.52·3 months agoYou should only use this license for projects you essentially want to fail in that way. If you want to ensure something you made does not get used for fuckery(say, for example, a virus you made for fun), you can use it. It’s a very niche license, but that doesn’t make it bad.
Bottom left is ave mujica I think?
JackRiddle@sh.itjust.worksto Programming@programming.dev•The Hippocratic License 3.0: An Ethical License for Open Source.213·3 months agoI like this license. I think some people in this comment section do not understand the purpose. An (open source) license is a tool that is used most effectively in determining what kind of entity uses your software. Use an mit or bsd license and everyone will use your software. Use a gpl license and large corporations might use it sometimes, but wont if there are alternatives and most likely wont incorporate it into any of their products.
This license might not be fully enforcable, but it is 100% poison to companies. Using this license(especially with the copyleft module) will almost certainly guarantee that only small projects will ever use it. Sure, it will kneecap your growth and your code will never see any real usage, but for some projects that might just be the best option.

the people most impacted by Trump can’t vote or don’t have accommodations in place to be able to vote.
So we’re strategically sacrificing minorities. Got it.
Yeah, they shouldn’t do this kind of thing in public. What if kids see it and decide they also want to “strate”?

Hey, I have a book written by the guy of the bottom paper. It’s called “de eendenman(the duck man)” and although he derails really quickly it’s a pretty fun and interesting read. I think he starts talking about penis shorteners halfway through and a guy who is legally dead at some point?

Right, of course, we should never try anything new. All things should stay as they are always, never put faith in a better future. I guess I am a monarchist now or whatever.
I know I am not being totally fair here. I know “go vote” is the advice liberals often give and that electoralism gets used as a way to divert from direct action. Voting will not change the system. It will not get us out of the clusterfuck we are in. It is not a substitute for action. I understand your perspective in this. Voting for someone who will not do anything about the fascist policies that are being introduced and who supports an active genocide feels bad, it feels like buying into a broken system and giving it legitimacy by your participation. But it frustrates me. Because people who discourage voting are playing into fascists hands. Because anarchists, marxists, syndicalists, communalists and the like cannot effect change by voting. But fascists can. Fascists already have enough power to sway the system in their favour, to use the government for their ends. Voting is not change, it is harm reduction. It is trying to cede as little ground as possible to fascists for as much time as possible, buying time to effect real change before we are all disappeared and shipped off to some concentration camp somewhere. Taking real political action gets exponentially harder everytime the fascists get more power. And in the last election, they have gotten a lot more power.
