I remeber it happening. There was no backdoor. It was during that time there was a push to put backdoors or weaken public encryption in the name of national security. Truceypt didnt want to play and were threatened with possible legal action. Rather than fight it they decided to stop the project.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Internal domain and reverse proxyEnglish
4·19 days agoPersonal solution:
- Openssl certs (lots of youtube videos on best practice there).
- nginx reverse proxy manager
- adguard home using the dns rewrite pointing to the wildcard domain.
This is enough i find for intranet use. You can get fancy and put it over a wireguard or tailscale network too.
Pending on the city skyscrapers and public buildings sometime are used to smooth out spikes in the electric grid. It also means they dont have to use more energy to spool the turbines back up at the power station when demand is greater. Its why you see traffic lights turn on during a sunny day sometimes.

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•Mapped projections have been a thing for a while now, but why aren't people mounting projectors and dancing carefully choreographed moves to match a projection on their bodies?
1·6 months agoCheck out touch designer. I was doing this for fun about 10 years ago and I know more professional creatives use it for the same thing. These days I think the camera tracking is pretty good but you can use a kinect for better tracking. Bit of a learning curve but if you have an aptitude for visual arts and programing you will be fine.
