Is there an easier way to mod the BIOS that doesn’t require taking the whole thing apart? AFAIK there was an IvyRain-esque mod in the works

How is the 4910MQ temperature-wise; did you have to do a heatsink mod?
I’d love to do a BIOS mod on my T540p to get rid of the WIFI whitelist but I can’t for the life of me take the thing apart without damaging the keyboard; it’s such a bad design.

Never even heard of Fakespot, though.
That’s a shame… T440ps are cool machines; I wish I had one. I’ve got a decked out T540p but it’s such a pain to work on

I recently spent 6 weeks in Australia, with much of that time spent outside. I did wore a hat for the most time but didn’t really bother with sunscreen; I got a nice tan but that’s about it.

I don’t really hang one to worn out t-shirts/sweaters, unless they have some kind of special meaning to me. Once clothes get bigger holes in them I just throw them out or re-purpose them as rags…
So yeah, I just wear the same stuff at home that I would wear outside.

The upgrade itself was pretty straightforward. You could use it just fine without activating it if you wanted.
IMO it’s a better option buying a new computer to run Windows 11 officially. I’m not including Linux because I specifically wanted to keep Windows on the Laptop to run apps that don’t work on Linux.

Way easier than installing Windows 11, which wouldn’t even officially run on my ThinkPad T540p…

Aside from some weird app incompatibilities it’s been working fine.

You pretty much have to fully take apart the T540p and flip the mainboard over to get to the BIOS chip. Same for CPU upgrades.
