Xenon is a drug?
Drugs.com calls it “physiologically inert” with some anaesthetic effects at high doses. Most of the coverage is about Xe-133 radiopharmacology and not what most people would think of as a “drug”. Is there more to the story?

Sometimes dressing slutty and being told what to do sounds nice 🤷♂️
But what if I (straight-ish) prefer it to be that conversation?
I don’t disagree with you. But don’t you think there’s a component of it that’s like, “Hey I want to both 1) release a game and 2) put food on table”? Since 99% of players are on Windows, actually doing both kind of necessitates building for Windows first.
As Linux gamers I think we should keep going in the direction we’ve been and making it easier and easier for devs to port to Linux or run their games through Proton and so forth. It’s been amazing and my time as a player has been so good in the last couple years. If we keep showing that, more players will come over and the userbase will grow. I’ve heard from plenty of others who have ditched Windows, because gaming was their last holdout.
The big AAA publishers aren’t struggling for basic needs. We can make demands of them. But the small inside devs? Help 'em out where you can.
I built the Apollo Lunar Lander not long ago. I enjoy the experience of putting together Lego kits so sure, I’d do that again. Or even a bigger one like the Saturn V.
The problem is what to do with these after I finish assembling them. Nicer kits have a good number of specialized parts so I don’t want to take them apart. So they just sit on a shelf and collect dust.
Still haven’t brought back the 3.5 mm headphone jack? And is that big battery replaceable (i.e. without anything stupid like ungluing it from the delicate touchscreen)?
Any coverage that omits these things is garbage IMO.
I know! S2 is my most anticipated game right now so part of me would love to jump in as early as possible. But I had the same experience of playing the original Subnautica with almost no prior knowledge and I’m so happy I did.
Yeah actually I quite like the peel in a cocktail or orange chicken. I was just joking around.
Both of you should just man up and eat the seeds and peel too.
I’m no expert and I’ve been out of the game for a while, but as I recall the platforms are all quite different. Maybe it’s common now to only allow messages between matches.
But anyway, I was referring more to the trolls and harassers that need to be banned entirely, not just blocked/ignored by individuals. These people will put nasty inappropriate stuff as their profile pics in the first place, and create new accounts just to pester others.
I think the problem there is moderation. Who is going to do the work of blocking/banning 1000 creepy messages and dick pics per minute on an open platform?
Let’s be honest, what these apps are going to do is boost user engagement (read: waste your fucking time) by pulling you into conversations with AI chatbots. The longer you’re there, the more advertisements they can feed you. It’s going to be harder and harder to find a real person, because investors don’t benefit from that.
I mean, unless it’s Mulholland Drive, or The Holy Mountain, or any number of other nonlinear or dream-like or psychedelic films.
I think ethically, legal status should not be a barrier to education about drugs. Sadly, in reality it often is (this includes research as well).
I’m not advocating for intrusive policing, if that’s what you think. The system we have now in many places is horribly broken and abusive. Instead I’m saying we should decriminalize but keep policies that are essential to public health (e.g. don’t give hard drugs to children), provide better resources for doctors and other healthcare workers, and deliver robust (and scientifically accurate) informational campaigns.
I know, it’s such a shame there’s never been a campaign to inform people about the risks of drunk driving… /s
Actually yeah, Rehfeldt basically is “metal” with the goofy quotes, haha. I think that means Radio Disney is the lazy river to hell.
Prescription meds generally aren’t party drugs. At least not the ones I know about. So that’s not quite the same.
Oh, I 100% believe that drugs should be decriminalized and treated as a health issue instead. Meaning both individual health and public health. Like how Portugal does it, IIRC.
Booze and cocaine are both party drugs and people already use them together, but I think there’s a larger public health concern if they were both readily available because that population would spike. People should have a little more knowledge of the risks. Plenty of folks out there think uppers + downers just cancel out 🙄 We don’t need more 20-somethings in the morgue.
Okay, but the combination of coke and alcohol dramatically increases your risk for a heart attack, so having both really available is potentially an even worse health crisis.
Isn’t that the same as Nitrogen, like Tar_alcaran@sh.itjust.works said? That doesn’t sound like there’s any unique mechanism to Xenon.
