CatfishSushi@lemmy.worldto politics @lemmy.world•Joe Biden suddenly leads Donald Trump in multiple polls282·1 year agoSo our choice is between run-of-the-mill president or a guy who says he wants to a dictator, violently tried to overturn the last election, had fake electors etc. etc.
I’m not excited about Biden but the choice seems to be pretty straightforward and I’ll be SURE to get to the polls.
CatfishSushi@lemmy.worldto politics @lemmy.world•To beat Trump, we need to know why Americans keep voting for him. Psychologists may have the answer121·1 year agoThey may both suck but Trump and party made abortions a lot harder to get, have made life a lot harder for Trans people, tried to stop the transfer of power and are undermining the nations confidence in elections. In addition, some are now trying to undermine a bi-partisan deal on border security to have a talking point at the ballot box.
Elections a lot of times are a vote for the lesser of two evils. And because the President gets to nominate Supreme Court justices it’s critical to vote. every. time.
Saying ‘they both suck’ is a cop-out.

Volkswagon designed the Beetle to be a bare-bones vehicle affordable for the everyday person.
The first car company to design an EV that’s a bare-bones vehicle affordable for the everyday person will sell lots of them. Profit per car may be lower but perhaps we need to set the need for maximum profits aside on this particular issue?
My raises aren’t even CLOSE to keeping up with inflation. Rather hard to splurge on a fancy EV with tons of high-tech nice-to-have features that are just going to break anyway. All I need to do is to get from point A to point B and have AC, heat and a half-decent stereo system.

Try Avenue 5 (It was on HBO)
IMO, it was much funnier than Orville. Space cruise ship goes off-course.
Wanted to like it more than I did. Just didn’t think it was all that funny.
Now I thought Avenue 5 (HBO) was absolutely hilarious. It’s the funny I expected from Orville. Too bad it ended after 2 seasons.

I thought it was really unwise to get eye surgery half-off. I’m usually a “you get what you pay for” kind of guy.
Turned out pretty well for her though.
Frankly I’m not sure NATO can rely on Turkey.
